Titanium complexes having chelating diaryloxo ligands bridged by tellurium and their catalytic behavior in the polymerization of ethylene

A series of titanium complexes having tellurium-bridged chelating bis(aryloxo) ligands, [TiX2{2,2‘-Te(4-R-6-R‘-C6H2O)2}]2 (5b, X = Cl, R = Me, R‘ = tBu; 6a, X = OiPr, R = R‘ = H; 6b, X = OiPr, R = Me, R‘ = tBu), were prepared. 5b and 6b were determined by X-ray crystallography to have chloro- and isopropoxo-bridged dimeric structures. The structural data for these complexes indicated that the Ti−Te coordination bonds were stronger than the similar Ti−S coordination bonds in the corresponding sulfur-bridged complexes. Abstract The design of trackable anticancer agents is of major interest for the future development of therapeutics based on nonplatinum metal complexes such as Ru(II), Os(II), or Au(I) derivatives, and more particularly for the understanding of the mechanism of action of these metal-based drugs. Squaramide-based reagent for selective chromogenic sensing of Cu(II) through a zwitterion radical.

A minimalist squaramide-based chemodosimeter for Cu(2+) is described. Upon selective chelation to 2, Cu(2+) induces the formation of a highly colored zwitterionic radical, which is kinetically stable for hours. The presence of a radical is confirmed by EPR and ESI-MS. It is then possible to use reagent 2 for visual and selective sensing of Cu(2+) at neutral pH.

The chlorination of the eight-membered platinum(II) chelates (PtCl2{NHC(NR2)N(Ph)C(NH)- N(Ph)C(NR2)NH}) (R = Me (1); R2 = (CH2)5 (2)) with uncomplexed imino group with Cl2 gives complexes bearing the N−Cl moiety (PtCl4{NHC(NR2)N(Ph)C(NCl)N- (Ph)C(NR2)NH}) (R = Me (3); R2 = (CH2)5 (4)). X-ray study for 3 revealed a novel type intermolecular halogen bonding N−Cl···Cl − , formed between the Cl atom of the chlorinated imine and the chloride bound to the platinum(IV) center. Dinuclear alkoxo-bridged copper(II) coordination polymers: Syntheses, structural and magnetic properties

Abstract The alkoxo-bridged dinuclear copper(II) complexes [Cu2(ap)2(NO2)2] (1), [Cu2(ap)2(C6H5COO)2] (2) and [Cu2(ap)2μ-1,3-C6H4(COO)2(dmso)2]·dmso (3) (ap = 3-aminopropanolato and dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide) have been synthesized via self-assembly from copper(II) perchlorate, 3-aminopropanol as main chelating ligand and nitrite and isophthalate anions as spacers and benzoate anion as auxiliary ligand. Complexes 1 and 3 crystallize as 2D and 1D coordination polymers, respectively, and their structures consist of dinuclear [Cu2(ap)2]2+ units connected with nitrite and isophthalate ligands. 4-Nitrophenyl phosphoric acid and its four different potassium salts: a solid state structure and kinetic study

The structures of 4-nitrophenyl phosphoric acid, H2NPP (1), and its four different potassium salts, K(H2NPP)(HNPP) (2), K(HNPP)·CH3OH (3), K(HNPP)·2H2O (4), and K2(NPP)·4H2O (5), were determined by X-ray diffraction methods. These investigations, together with the study of the role of potassium ions in the hydrolysis of 4-nitrophenyl phosphate, provided information about interactions between the acid, monoanionic and dianionic forms of 4-nitrophenyl phosphate and the potassium cations. Influence of ligand density on the properties of metal-chelate affinity supports.

A new procedure has been developed to immobilize iminodiacetic acid (IDA) onto the surface of silica supports, such as LiChrospher Si-1000 and 1.5-microns nonporous silica, for use in high-performance immobilized metal affinity chromatography (HPIMAC) of proteins. This IDA immobilization method has been achieved through the synthesis of a new silylation reagent, 1-(iminodiacetic acid di-tert-butylester)-3-glycidoxy-propyltrimethoxysilane (IDA-silane). Lead Nanowires for Microaccumulators Obtained Through Indirect Electrochemical Template Deposition

Metallic lead nanowires were deposited within pores of commercial anodic alumina membranes having an average pore diameter of 210 nm. "Direct" electrodeposition was attempted from 0.1 M Pb(NO 3 ) 2 aqueous solution with a variable concentration of H 3 BO 3 as a chelating agent, but it gave unsatisfactory results. An "indirect" two-step deposition procedure was then adopted, consisting of the anodic electrodeposition of α-PbO 2 nanowires, followed by their in situ reduction to metallic lead. Both these processes occurred at a high rate so that the indirect method led to a complete template pore filling with pure polycrystalline Pb in short times and with a high current efficiency.

Patients with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) are susceptible to developing iron overload as a response to the red blood cell (RBC) transfusions and ineffective hematopoiesis. This iron overload (IOL) is characterized by an increase in oxygen-reactive species accompanied by a decrease in antioxidants, and results in hepatic, cardiac and endocrine disorders, as well as an increased risk of infection.
