This chapter first provides a short description of the historical background and development of special education teacher training in Finland. The main aim of this study was to identify different teaching practices and explore the types of opportunities that they provide for children’s participation in four different Finnish preschool classrooms for 6-year olds during structured learning sessions. Abstract The aim of this study is to explore how students experience and describe socio-cognitive and socio-emotional challenges in collaborative learning. The participants (N = 20) were teacher education students whose collaborative learning was supported with a designed regulation macro script during a six-week mathematics course. Measuring higher-order cognitive skills with multiple choice questions:potentials and pitfalls of Finnish teacher education entrance

This mixed methods study examines the structure of the multiple-choice exam for student selection in Finnish teacher education. Through qualitative content analysis, we categorized multiple-choice ques-tions into items that assessed lower-and higher-order cognitive processes based on the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses yielded four factors that represented lower-and higher-order cognitive processing skills and comprehension of empirical and theoretical items. Family-teachers relationships through digital tools: analyses and proposals

La investigación exploratoria analiza las relaciones digitales entre docentes y familias en diez centros educativos de las provincias de Barcelona y Girona. La investigación recoge y analiza las diferentes herramientas digitales a través del análisis de documentos y de entrevistas semiestructuradas. El estudio muestra que la introducción de las TIC no ha conllevado cambios sustanciales ni en el qué ni en el cómo de las prácticas y las relaciones entre familias y docentes. Finalmente, partiendo de dicho análisis, se plantean pistas y propuestas de mejora en las actuales relaciones digitales entre docentes y familias.
