2012

Abstract As a woman poet, Chen Jingrong’s productions encompassed the whole 20 th century: of particular interest are her poetry translations from the French language. Thanks to her translation work, valuable understanding of Charles Baudelaire’s poetry was made available in China, which influenced the Chinese contemporary poet, Duo Duo, when he first started writing poetry during his youth. This paper tries to depict the importance of this contribution of Chen Jingrong and its effect on the process of renovation of the contemporary poetic scene in China. Exilios fragmentados en Luisa Futoransky y Alicia Kozameh, dos autoras de la diáspora argentina / Fragmented Exiles in Luisa Futoransky and Alicia Ko…

2016

Maoism and Postmodernism

2015

In this essay I discuss the emergence of the Mao cult during the Cultural Revolution in China and its appropriation in cultural revolutions in Europe and the United States to show how this image resonated with similar cults of popular icons in the West and lent itself to the formulation of theories and practices of postmodernism. The image quality of these cults facilitated the rise of the Mao-craze in the late 1980s and 1990s when political pop productions of Mao by Chinese artists emerged in New York and were then transplanted to China where they met with transfigurations of Mao’s legacy in the People’s Republic. The final stage of postmodern variations of Mao is reached with the presiden…

Chińska aktywność na Bałkanach w XXI wieku i jej implikacje

2022

Continental Construction in Central Asia (IGCP-592): Scientific Results and Meetings in 2012

2013

IGCP-Project #592 (2012-2015) "Continental construction in Central Asia", funded by UNESCO-IUGS, was launched in April 2012. The Project focuses on tectonic and magmatic aspects of formation of continental crust in the Central Asian Orogenic Belt and their comparison with actualistic examples from the western Pacific. This report summarizes related scientific results and meetings. In total, in 2012 the Project organized, and/or participated in the organization of, six international conferences and workshops, three of which were accompanied by training schools for young scientists and special training courses. At the present time, more than 250 scientists from 27 countries expressed their in…

Co-authorship networks and institutional collaboration in works about Learning, Teaching and Education Leadership

2017

Bibliometric indicators, based on the statistical analysis of quantitative data from scientific literature, constitute currently in an essential tool for the study of research activity. In the last years, the use of bibliometric indicators as a complement to other scientific indicators to analyse the research situation of a country, its evolution in its time and their position in the international context, has been extended. Collaboration is a characteristic feature of modern science and it is very difficult to measure this aspect. Nevertheless, it is widely accepted to count the combined signatures done by two or more authors, with the analysis of the institutional affiliation mentions and…

Rhodoluna lacicola gen. nov., sp. nov., a planktonic freshwater bacterium with stream-lined genome

2014

A pure culture of an actinobacterium previously described as 'Candidatus Rhodoluna lacicola' strain MWH-Ta8 was established and deposited in two public culture collections. Strain MWH-Ta8(T) represents a free-living planktonic freshwater bacterium obtained from hypertrophic Meiliang Bay, Lake Taihu, PR China. The strain was characterized by phylogenetic and taxonomic investigations, as well as by determination of its complete genome sequence. Strain MWH-Ta8(T) is noticeable due to its unusually low values of cell size (0.05 µm(3)), genome size (1.43 Mbp), and DNA G+C content (51.5 mol%). Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene and RpoB sequences suggested that strain MWH-Ta8(T) is affi…

Spatial and temporal dynamics of bacterioplankton community composition in a subtropical dammed karst river of southwestern China.

2018

Abstract River damming influences the hydro‐physicochemical variations in karst water; however, such disruption in bacterioplankton communities has seldom been studied. Here, three sampling sites (city‐river section, reservoir area, and outflow area) of the Ca2+–Mg2+–HCO 3 −–SO 4 2− water type in the dammed Liu River were selected to investigate the bacterioplankton community composition as identified by high‐throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing. In the dammed Liu River, thermal regimes have been altered, which has resulted in considerable spatial‐temporal differences in total dissolved solids (TDSs), oxidation‐reduction potential (Eh), dissolved oxygen (DO), and pH and in a different microe…

Audiovisual constructs of Paralympic Games : scalarity and camera angle

2014

This research will analyze the variables differentiating between the audiovisual television of the XIII edition of the Paralympic Games and the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, held in Beijing from the 7th of September to the 17th, 2008. This study will serve as a methodological basis for similar future research. By means of a qualitative and quantitative methodology, this study also focuses on determining if TV representations of Paralympic sportspersons favour their social integration or if, on the contrary, lead to higher stigmatization.

Effects of Cucumber mosaic virus and Aster yellows phytoplasma (16SrI-B) on the quality of Echinacea purpurea essential oil.

2011

Echinacea purpurea Moench (L.), known as purple coneflower, is one of the most important medicinal plants, used worldwide for its immunostimulant, bacteriostatic and anti-inflammatory properties, as natural drug and/or food supplement (as infusion). In a previous study carried out in 2002 in Italy to verify possible influence of viral infectious on the plant oil composition, the oil from plants (grown at the Herb Garden of Casola Valsenio, Emilia Romagna region) infected by Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) was compared to the one from healthy plant by combined gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analyses. Significant quantitative variations in their compositions were verified; the infec…
