Type II narrow double barrier quantum well structures : Γ-X coupling and interface effects

Photoluminescence (PL), PL excitation and time resolved PL experiments have been performed on Al0.42Ga0.58As/AlAs/GaAs symmetric double barrier quantum wells (DBQW) with only one or two AlAs monolayers constituting the intermediate barriers. In agreement with the envelope function predictions we show that such DBQW's undergo a type I - type II transition when the GaAs thickness is reduced below 7 and 5 monolayers for 2 and 1 AlAs molecular planes respectively. In type II configuration the PL decay time is found to be strongly dependent on the energy difference between AlAs Xz - and GaAs Γ - electron confined states and the coupling parameter of the Γ and Xz valleys can be deduced (4.2 meV o…

The use of latex in electrooptic devices is proposed. The static non linearity coefficient is shown to be approximatively 200 times the optical one. The UkrVO Joint Digital Archive of astro- plates and the newest digitized data processing services al- lowed us to form a new approach for the creation of catalogs of astrometric and photometric characteristics of the Solar System bodies. Given this, the main goal of this approach was not only to complete the processing with the best possi- ble accuracy of high-quality and unprocessed earlier photo- graphic observations of the Solar System bodies but also to find new original data from these observations. This paper examines how Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) - an early incarnation of a multinational enterprise (MNE) - developed its image as an international company. In particular, we examine how the company developed and managed potentially conflicting narratives, including the modernising US company and the airline of 'the Americas' (specifically South America); the carrier of US national interests and the politically neutral actor serving to unify cultures; the purveyor of exotic experiences and the pioneer of modernism. This study conducts an exploratory corpus-assisted discourse analysis of the representation of the Rohingya minority group across online news media in the United Kingdom. The purpose of the study is to identify and interpret the discursive patterns employed in popular online news media when depicting the Rohingya minority and associated crises affecting the group in Myanmar and worldwide. The spectra of the fourth and fifth CH stretching overtones of cyclohexene and cyclopentene molecules and of some of their selectively deuterated derivatives have been measured by dye laser intracavity spectroscopy with photoacoustic detection. The intramolecular relaxation of the vibrational energy occurs principally through Fermi resonances with CH2 bending combinations in cyclohexene and through a coupling between the stretching and the ring puckering motions in cyclopentene.
