Il saggio analizza le biografie degli architetti siciliani, o operanti in Sicilia, contenute nell'opera vasariana de "Le Vite dei più eccellenti, pittori, scultori et architettori", individuandone le peculiarità, ma anche lacune e inesattezze, mentre il rapporto di amicizia che lega Vasari a Giovannangelo Montorsoli potrebbe spiegare molte informazioni contenute nel celebre volume.In realtà il testo di Vasari non può che riflettere in modo molto indiretto le prove di forza che si giocano nell'isola e i tentativi di penetrazione dei maestri toscani nei cantieri di Palermo.

Cementation is considered as the most attractive solution for the conditioning of low and intermediate radioactive wastes. The species contained in these wastes can strongly influence the reactivity of the cement pastes, it is in particular the case of the ortho-phosphate ions which are found in the evaporation concentrates. The aim of our work was to determine the influence of these ions on the hydration and the rheological properties of the cement pastes at early age as well as the mechanical and physical properties on the hardened material.

The current limited knowledge on the interactions between organic admixtures and mineral phases as well as their influence on the hydration mechanisms of the Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) represents a real limitation in the development of new organic products with improved and controlled properties. This work devoted to study various parameters influencing hydration of silicate phase main Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) was performed at the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne (ICB). This study is part of the project "Crystal Growth Control" initiated by BASF in order to monitor and provide the best as possible the hydration of Ordinary Portland Cement. The dissolution of alite, like the pure C3S one, is fast in pure water. Speed decreases with deviation from equilibrium and the concentration of aluminates ions in solution. The aim of this work is to build a thermodynamic model at 25°C to describe the main hydrates of ordinary Portland cement with or without supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) : calcium hydrosilicates. With high aluminium content, SCM in blended cements modify the nature and the composition of the hydrates of cement paste.The simplified model system CaO-SiO2-H2O was studied by synthesising of C-S-H with identical protocol and analysis. We distinguished, hydration solutions undersaturated and supersaturated from Portlandite.This last system has been extended to CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-H2O system. All’arcivescovo Beccadelli è riferito un Breviarium miniato a più mani variamente riconosciute. L’intervento ricostruisce, identificando due stemmi post confezione non appartenenti al committente (1. goffrato sul taglio concavo, 2. c. VIv), altrettanti inediti passaggi di mano del ms. (XV-XVII sec.) An illuminated Breviarium by several hands variously recognized is referred to Archbishop Beccadelli. The work reconstructs, by identifying two post-package coats of arms not belonging to the patron (1. embossed on the concave cut, 2. c. VIv), as many unpublished hand transitions of the ms. (15th-17th cent.)

L’architettura prodotta in ambito messinese fra Quattro e Cinquecento si è spesso prestata ad una valutazione di estraneità, rispetto al contesto isolano. L’idea che Messina sia la città più “toscana” e “rinascimentale” del sud va probabilmente mitigata: i terremoti che hanno colpito in modo devastante Messina e la Sicilia orientale hanno probabilmente sottratto numerose prove di una prolungata permanenza del gotico in quest’area e hanno inevitabilmente condizionato la lettura degli storici.
