Kreislaufuntersuchungen �ber Eledoisin mit Therapieresultaten

Nachdem die Wirkung von synthetischem Eledoisin auf die Summengrosen des grosen und kleinen Kreislaufs des Menschen, auf die Haut- und Muskeldurchblutung von Gesunden und Gefaskranken sowie auf die Carotis communis — wie Carotis interna-Schlingen von Hunden untersucht worden war, wurden Kranke mit peripheren arteriellen Verschlusleiden, zum Teil uber viele Wochen, mit Eledoisin behandelt. Entgegen der herrschenden Auffassung wurden die klinisch-pharmakologischen Untersuchungen uberwiegend und die therapeutische Anwendung ausschlieslich mit intravenoser Applikation ausgefuhrt.

1. Bei 57 spontanatmenden Kaninchen wird in Ketaminnarkose mit Hilfe der85Kr(β)-Auswaschtechnik nach Stosinjektion des gelosten Indikators in die Aorta die regionale Milzdurchblutung gemessen. 2. Bei der normalen, unbeeinflusten Milzin situ besteht im Bereich von 65–125 mm Hg eine lineare Abhangigkeit der regionalen Milzdurchblutung vom arteriellen Mitteldruck (2p < 0,001). Bei einem mittleren Druck von 97 mm Hg betragt die mittlere Milzdurchblutung 1,23 ml/g/min. 3. Nach totaler Obstruktion der offenen Strombahn durch Applikation rigider Spharocyten ist die Durchblutung im gleichen Blutdruckbereich unabhangig vom arteriellen Mitteldruck. Adjustable tourniquet to manipulate pulmonary blood flow after Norwood operations

Abstract Background . Survival after first-stage palliative Norwood operations for single ventricle with systemic outflow obstruction is mainly dependent on a balanced ratio of pulmonary blood flow to systemic blood flow. Here we report the clinical results using a modified technique that allows a controlled systemic-to-pulmonary shunt flow to prevent pulmonary overcirculation. Methods . From 1995 to 1998, of 26 infants undergoing first-stage palliative Norwood operations, 7 had placement of an adjustable tourniquet around a modified right Blalock-Taussig shunt. Results . Catalytic activity of large-pore high Si/Al zeolites: Cracking of heptane on H-Beta and dealuminated HY zeolites

Abstract The catalytic activity, selectivity, catalyst decay, thermal and hydrothermal stability, and acidity of H-Beta and HY zeolites with Si Al ratios of 7.5 and 10, respectively, have been studied during cracking of n-heptane at 450 °C and atmospheric pressure. It has been found that the H-Beta zeolite is more active and decays more slowly than HY. H-Beta presents a higher steric hindrance for dibranched molecules and therefore its open structure should be smaller than that of HY. A lower hydrogen transfer activity and hydrothermal stability is observed for H-Beta in comparison with the corresponding HY.

For isentropic fluids, dynamical evolution of a binary system conserves the baryonic mass and circulation; therefore, sequences of constant rest mass and constant circulation are of particular importance. In this work, we present the extension of our Compact Object CALculator (\cocal{}) code to compute such quasiequilibria and compare them with the well-known corotating and irrotational sequences, the latter being the simplest, zero-circulation case. Nitric oxide (NO) plays a multifaceted role in mucosal integrity. The numerous functions of NO and the double-edged role played by NO in most of them provide a great complexity to the NO action. The three enzymatic sources of NO, neuronal NO-synthase (nNOS), endothelial NOS (eNOS), and inducible NOS (iNOS), have been characterised in the gastrointestinal tract.
