A phase II study of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin oxaliplatin and cyclophosphamide as second-line treatment in relapsed ovarian carcinoma

We carried out a phase II nonrandomized study to examine the level of activity of oxaliplatin, pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide in a patient population with relapsed ovarian cancer pretreated with platinum derivatives and paclitaxel. Patients received oxaliplatin (85 mg/m2), pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (30 mg/m2), and cyclophosphamide (750 mg/m2). A total of 49 patients (39 assessable for toxicity and response) were enrolled in this trial. Neutropenia grade 3 was observed in six patients (15%) and anemia grade 3 in one patient (0.2%). Long-term outcome of treatment with dacarbazine, cisplatin, interferon-α and intravenous high dose interleukin-2 in poor risk melanoma patients

Melanoma patients with very advanced disease are usually excluded from chemoimmunotherapy trials; however, the efficacy of intensive treatment regimens needs to be established for this patient population. This study aimed to evaluate the response rate and survival achieved with chemoimmunotherapy in very advanced melanoma patients. Apoptotic effects of different drugs on cultured retinoblastoma Y79 cells

This paper deals with the apoptotic effect exerted in human retinoblastoma Y79 cells by a number of compounds. A remarkable effect was observed after treatment with DNA-damaging agents, such as camptothecin, etoposide, cisplatin and carboplatin; camptothecin was found to be the most efficacious. Treatment with these compounds induced the appearance of morphological features of apoptosis in the cells together with the distinct fragmentation of DNA, as shown by agarose gel electrophoresis. Permeability of the rat bladder to Cisplatinum under different conditions: comparison with Mitomycin C and Adriamycin.

In 50 female Sprague-Dawley rats the absorption of Cisplatinum through the bladder wall was studied. Under different conditions, including cystitis and electrocoagulation of the bladder mucosa, the absorption was low and the measureable serum concentrations did not exceed 2.64 micrograms/ml. The influence of Tween 80--a non-ionic surfactant--on the absorption is investigated. The results are compared with those found for Adriamycin and Mitomycin C under identical conditions.

International audience; A method based on the coupling of high resolution size-exclusion liquid chromatography using a polymer stationary phase with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was developed to study the interactions of two metallodrugs - cisplatin and RAPTA-T - with the serum proteins albumin and transferrin.
