El artículo trata de las reformas introducidas por el ministro Manuel Lora-Tamayo en la universidad (1962-68), con especial incidencia en las enseñanzas técnicas y se contextualiza en la época caracterizada por el crecimiento y cambio social, la emergencia de la nueva clase media y la conflictividad de estudiantes y jóvenes profesores. The article examines the reforms introduced by Minister Manuel Lora-Tamayo at the University (1962-1968), with special emphasis on technical education and contextualized at the time, characterized by the growth and social change, the emergence of new middle class and the conflict of students and young teachers.

Experimental Crystallization of a High-K Arc Basalt: the Golden Pumice, Stromboli Volcano (Italy)

International audience; The near-liquidus crystallization of a high-K basalt (PST-9 golden pumice, 49·4 wt % SiO2, 1·85 wt % K2O, 7·96 wt % MgO) from the present-day activity of Stromboli (Aeolian Islands, Italy) has been experimentally investigated between 1050 and 1175°C, at pressures from 50 to 400 MPa, for melt H2O concentrations between 1·2 and 5·5 wt % and {Delta}NNO ranging from –0·07 to +2·32. A drop-quench device was systematically used. AuPd alloys were used as containers in most cases, resulting in an average Fe loss of 13% for the 34 charges studied. Introducción (fundamento y objetivo): La finalidad de establecer una periodicidad sexenal para estudiar la evolución de salud oral infantil unido a importantes cambios demográficos asociados con la inmigración en la Comunidad Valenciana han motivado este trabajo. Material y método: Con una muestra seleccionada al azar de 509 niños de 6 años, 478 de 12 años y 401 de 15-16 años se ha realizado un estudio de corte transversal. Los exploraciones clínicas fueron realizadas por odontólogos calibrados (Kappa > 0.85). We have recently demonstrated that the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) shared epitope (SE) acts as a ligand that triggers nitric oxide (NO) signaling in opposite cells. Given the known pro-oxidative effect of NO and the proposed role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of RA, this study explores whether SE-triggered signaling can increase cellular oxidative stress. cAMP levels, adenylyl cyclase activity, and protein kinase A activity were measured using commercial kits. Synthesis of (E)- and (Z)-29-methylidyne-2,3-oxidosqualene derivatives as inhibitors of liver and yeast oxidosqualene cyclase

The synthesis of (E)- and (Z)-29-methylidyne-2,3-oxidosqualene derivatives is described starting from the C22 and C17 squalene aldehyde monobromohydrins. The conversion was achieved by means of a Wittig reaction, followed by desilylation of the terminal acetylene. For trisubstituted 1,3-enynes, preliminary alkylation with a suitable allyl bromide was performed. A new procedure for the synthesis of squalene aldehyde C27, C22 and C17 monobromohydrins is also described. Some of the new compounds behaved as inhibitors of pig liver and yeast oxidosqualene cyclase and were time-dependent inhibitors of the animal enzyme.

In dissociated single cells from the sponge Geodia cydonium, DNA synthesis is initiated after incubation with a homologous, soluble aggregation factor. During the DNA-initiation phase the cyclic AMP- and cyclic GMP levels vary drastically; the cyclic AMP content drops from 2.2 pmol/10(6) cells to 0.3 pmol/10(6) cells while the cyclic GMP content increases from 0.6 pmol to 3.7 pmol/10(6) cells. The activity of neither the adenylate cyclase nor of the guanylate cyclase isolated from cells which have been incubated for different periods of time with the aggregation factor, is changed.
