Recent studies from other laboratories have shown that concanavalin A (Con A) acts at two separate steps in polyclonal T cell activation: interleukin 2 (IL2) production, and induction of responsiveness to IL2. Using a combination of techniques for the depletion of accessory cells from lymph node T cells, we have investigated which of these steps, if not both, is responsible for the known requirement for accessory cells in the Con A response. It was found that with increasing T cell purification, first the ability is lost to produce sufficient levels of endogenous IL2, whereas induction of IL2 responsiveness can still take place. Modulation of accessory cell function of immortalized bone marrow-derived macrophages by granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor.

To generate cloned macrophage populations with sensitivity towards granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMM phi) were immortalized by transformation with SV40. A panel of transformed clones was established. The majority of clones represented independently derived transformants, as evidenced by restriction fragment length polymorphism using genomic DNA digested with EcoRI and TaqI and the 5.2 kb SV40 DNA for hybridization analysis. Cytomegaloviruses (CMVs) deploy a set of genes for interference with antigen presentation in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I pathway. In murine CMV (MCMV), three genes were identified so far: m04/gp34, m06/gp48, and m152/gp40. While their function as immunoevasins was originally defined after their selective expression, this may not necessarily reflect their biological role during infection. Immunomic, genomic and transcriptomic characterization of CT26 colorectal carcinoma

Background Tumor models are critical for our understanding of cancer and the development of cancer therapeutics. Here, we present an integrated map of the genome, transcriptome and immunome of an epithelial mouse tumor, the CT26 colon carcinoma cell line. Results We found that Kras is homozygously mutated at p.G12D, Apc and Tp53 are not mutated, and Cdkn2a is homozygously deleted. Treatment of Class III malocclusion using Hybrid Hyrax, Face Mask and Alt-RAMEC Protocol : a case report in a latin-american patient

The management of Class III malocclusion is one of the greatest challenges of orthodontics. Current treatments offer the possibility of using direct skeletal anchorage to improve clinical outcomes. This case shows the results of using a Hyrax hybrid palatal anchorage, Alt-RAMEC (Alternate Rapid Maxillary Expansion and Contraction protocol) and a facemask to treat a maxillary hypoplasia Class III malocclusion in a Latin-American patient. The appliance design and the protocol used are widely described. Background To assess the efficacy of a multibracket appliance-Straight-wire Mirabella (SWM) prescription-in terms of achieving the ideal first-, second- and third-order values proposed by Andrews.
