Abstract We studied field performance of containerised Pinus sylvestris and Picea abies seedlings of different provenances. Shoot height, needle chemical composition, root collar diameter, root mycorrhization and mycorrhizal species composition were evaluated after four growing seasons following outplanting. The results showed that in general spruce had better survival than pine. Ectomycorrhizas on spruce were dominated by Wilcoxina, Amphinema and Tylospora, while on pine — by Suillus and Thelephora species. Un frammento marmoreo raffigurante un serpente viene descritto e commentato per stabilirne il possibile significato nello specifico contesto dei bagni medievali, ma anche tenendo conto della varietà di rimandi che l'iimmagine del serpente ha assunto in età classica. A marble fragment of a snake is described and briefly discussed in order to establish its significance in the specific context of the medieval baths but also considering the polysemy of the iconography in the classical period.

Effective ecosystem-based management requires understanding ecosystem responses to multiple human threats, rather than focusing on single threats. To understand ecosystem responses to anthropogenic threats holistically, it is necessary to know how threats affect different components within ecosystems and ultimately alter ecosystem functioning. W artykule dokonano przeglądu badań dotyczących znaczenia środowiska fizycznego klasy szkolnej dla przebiegu kształcenia, klimatu uczenia się i jakości wzajemnego komunikowania się. W analizach skupiono się zwłaszcza na strefach dystansu fizycznego, zatłoczeniu i zagęszczeniu, aranżacji miejsc siedzących oraz wystroju wnętrza sali lekcyjnej. Z przeglądu badań wynika, że mniejsze dystanse fizyczne między nauczycielem a uczniami sprzyjają osiąganiu wyższych wyników w nauce. Brak odpowiedniej przestrzeni fizycznej (zatłoczenie i zagęszczenie) wpływa na kłopoty z koncentracją, zmniejsza dokładność wykonywania zadań i nasila zachowania agresywne. A recent and new Republican denarius restored by Trajan is studied and discussed. The issue is extremely rare as no image of it is known so far. It was found in Carcaboso, Cáceres (Conventus Emeritensis, Lusitania), very near of the road known as Vía de la Plata, very surely in a Roman mansio.
