Perceived Coach-Created Motivational Climates as Predictors of Athletes' Goal Reengagement: The Mediational Role of Goal Motives.
2021
Athletes have to face several challenges during the sport season, and one of them could involve dealing with unattainable goals. In these situations, being able to reengage in other goals as a form of goal adjustment and in response to contextual demands is adaptive. According to previous literature, some aspects of the athletes’ social context, such as coach-created motivational climates, could encourage more adaptive responses in athletes, and so it is possible that these climates would also promote athletes’ goal regulation and goal reengagement. The purpose of this study was twofold: to analyze whether athletes’ perception of empowering and disempowering climates were related to their g…
L'Oscillation de Madden-Julian et la variabilité pluviométrique régionale en Afrique Subsaharienne
2007
The role of the Madden-Julian Oscillation ("MJO") on rainfall variability in Sub-Saharan Africa is examined, based on daily rain-gauge records and the NCEP-DOE AMIP-II reanalyses. The convective and dynamical signal associated with the MJO is extracted using two differing methodologies, the BMRC daily indices (Wheeler & Hendon 2004) on the one hand, and a Local Mode Analysis ("LMA", Goulet & Duvel 2000) on the other hand. The temporal variability of the MJO (in terms of period, amplitude, seasonality and location of the convective anomalies) is first analysed. Though the overall amplitude of the signal is not related to El Niño, the oscillations occurring under El Niño (La Niña) conditions …
The role of melt composition on aqueous fluid vs. silicate melt partitioning of bromine in magmas
2018
International audience; Volcanogenic halogens, in particular bromine, potentially play an important role in the ozone depletion of the atmosphere. Understanding bromine behaviour in magmas is therefore crucial to properly evaluate the contribution of volcanic eruptions to atmospheric chemistry and their environmental impact. To date, bromine partitioning between silicate melts and the gas phase is very poorly constrained, with the only relevant experimental studies limited to investigation of synthetic melt with silicic compositions. In this study, fluid/melt partitioning experiments were performed using natural silicate glasses with mafic, intermediate and silicic compositions. For each co…

Evaluation of the global aerosol model EMAC-MADE3 in the uncoupled version - monthly data
2018
Project: EMAC-MADE3 uncoupled - Recently, the aerosol microphysics submodel MADE3 was introduced as a successor to MADE and MADE-in. It includes nine aerosol species and nine lognormal modes to represent aerosol particles of three different mixing states throughout the aeroso size spectrum. Here we describe the implementation of the most recent version of MADE3 into the atmospheric chemistry general circulation model EMAC, including a detailed evaluation of a ten-year aerosol simulation with MADE3 as part of EMAC. Summary: Simulation with most recent version of MADE3 into the atmospheric chemistry general circulation model EMAC, including a detailed evaluation of a ten-year aerosol simulati…

Pluviométrie et circulation atmosphérique simulées par le modèle régional WRF en Afrique australe : sensibilité à la physique et variabilité interne
2011
This study evaluates the capability of the regional climate model WRF to simulate Southern African rainfall and associated atmospheric circulation, particularly over South Africa, a country covered by a dense network of in situ observations. Three sets of simulations are performed at a 35km horizontal resolution during the core of the austral rainy season (December to February: DJF) with 6-hourly forcings provided by ERA40 reanalysis. The first set quantifies sensitivity of the simulated climate to the parameterizations of atmospheric convection, planetary boundary layer and microphysics. The retained case study (DJF 1993-1994: DJF94) is representative of the South African rainfall climatol…
The Origins of Northern European Autographa Gamma Individuals Evaluated Using Hydrogen Stable Isotopes
2018
1. Many insect species are migratory. As the spring progresses, adults gradually depart from their over‐wintering habitats and arrive in northern zones where they reproduce during the summer. Understanding this transgenerational and highly adaptive migratory behaviour is crucial when interpreting life cycle dynamics of many insect pests. 2. Origins of migratory silver Y moths, Autographa gamma (Linnaeus, 1758), captured from Finland, were studied with stable hydrogen analysis of their wings (δ2Hw). 3. The difference between spring and autumn generation δ2Hw values indicate different geographical natal origins. The probability surface map shows that the spring generation probably emerged in …
