Economical evaluation of ecological benefits of the demand side management

Environmental pollution and over-exploitation of non-renewable sources to find energy are current topics for the modern world that is now at having to deal with several issues such as the greenhouse effect, acid rain and climate change. In this study, the economical estimate of the savings in carbon dioxide obtained with a careful management of electrical loads is presented. Four particular scenarios are designed as case studies: Italy, France, United Kingdom and Germany. A comparison is presented with a similar study, made in 2007, when green energies were not yet very developed.
MUV: A Game to Encourage Sustainable Mobility Habits

This working paper investigates the question of changing people mobility towards more sustainable habits involving them in an engaging gameplay. The work is performed within MUV H2020 research and innovation action. The game design, definition and features have been co-created through the involvement of different citizens and stakeholders in six European neighbourhoods. The paper discusses the game design as resulting from co-creation and co-design experiences with each neighbourhood communities involved in initial phases. The consumption of the soil due to urbanization it is a phenomena already for many years under observations, but of which only the scientific environment has noticed the elevated environmental impact progress. From a disciplinary point of view, is possible to identify a line of research focusing on the analysis and identification of new morphologies of urbanization and on the interaction among different settlement patterns coexisting in a specific context.
