Psychological treatment of sexual problems. Thematic analysis of guidelines and recommendations, based on a systematic literature review 2001–2010

ABSTRACTIn order to explore the basis for evaluation of quality in psychological treatment of sexual problems, a literature search, confined to publications between 2001 and 2010, was conducted in 2012. Two hundred sixty one articles were found and ordered according to the subject and type of publication. Thematic analysis of 37 articles on guidelines and recommendations for treatment of sexual problems is presented. Guidelines and recommendations published in the period from 2001 up to and including 2010 provides an overview of the discussion among professionals in the first decade of the 21st century. Abstract Sexual sensation seeking among adolescents has been mostly associated with unprotected sex and other risky behaviors. This paper presents the Spanish adaptation and validation of the Sexual Sensation Seeking Scale (SSSS). This cross-sectional study included 1350 adolescents (601 male and 749 female), aged between 15 and 18 years ( M  = 16.1, SD  = 0.97). Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) yielded two components: Physical Sensations Attraction (PSA), and New Experiences Seeking (NES), which together accounted for 48.98% of the total variance. The objective is to examine the effects of reminiscence therapy (RT) on total, episodic and semantic autobiographical memory in amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) groups, testing the effects of RT on different stages of autobiographical memory, and its effectiveness at follow-up. A sample composed of 43 aMCI (27 treatments, 16 controls) and 30 AD (15 treatments, 15 controls) subjects were evaluated with the Autobiographical Memory Interview (AMI) test.
