A hierarchy of simplified constitutive models within isotropic strain gradient elasticity
2017
Abstract Simplified isotropic models of strain gradient elasticity are presented, based on the mutual relationship between the inherent (dual) gradient directions (i.e. the gradient direction of any strain gradient source and the lever arm direction of the promoted double stress). A class of gradient-symmetric materials featured by gradient directions obeying a reciprocity relation and by 4 independent h.o. (higher order) coefficients is envisioned, along with the sub-classes of hemi-collinear materials (3 h.o. coefficients, gradient directions in part coincident), collinear materials (2 h.o. coefficients, equal gradient directions) and micro-affine materials (1 h.o. coefficient, behavioral…
Levels of 188Re nucleus populated in thermal neutron capture reaction
2016
Abstract Levels of 188 Re populated in thermal neutron capture reaction with enriched 187 Re targets have been studied. Single γ -ray spectrum of 188 Re, measured with the high-resolution crystal diffraction spectrometer GAMS5, as well as γγ -coincidence experiments performed with high efficiency Ge detectors, allowed to develop model-independent level scheme of the doubly-odd 188 Re nucleus up to ∼ 1.5 MeV excitation energy. Analysis of the established 188 Re level scheme in terms of the quasiparticle-plus-rotor model indicates coexistence of axially-deformed and triaxial structures in the energy range above 400 keV.
The Insolvency of Cryptocurrency Exchanges: Lessons from the BitGrail Case — Reification of Coins, Pari Passu Ranking, and Nominalism
2019
This paper deals with a recent trend in insolvency of cryptocurrency platforms; comments on the BitGrail case (Court of Florence 17/2019, 21 January 2019) and argues that this decision balances the need to grant legal protection to the injured users and the need to prevent them from having the status of owners, jumping the queue and getting a head start over the other creditors of the platform.
Fonti storiche e fonti numismatiche a confronto nella Sicilia centro-meridionale della fine del V sec. a.C.
2006
The historical events that involved Sicily at the end of the 5th century BC find a precise description in the X-XIII books of Diodorus Siculus. The numismatic testimonies from the territory of central-southern Sicily, in addition to confirming what has been illustrated by the historian of Agira, integrate and enrich the information, adding data for the same period relating above all to the indigenous centres, neglected by the sources.
Bond stretching and redox behavior in coinage metal complexes of the dichalcogenide dianions [(SPh2P)2CEEC(PPh2S)2]2- (E=S, Se): diradical character …

The metathetical reactions of a) [Li(tmeda)](2)[(S)C(PPh(2)S)(2)] (Li(2)·3c) with CuCl(2) and b) [Li(tmeda)](2)[(SPh(2)P)(2)CSSC(PPh(2)S)(2)] (Li(2)·4c) with two equivalents of CuCl both afford the binuclear Cu(I) complex {Cu(2)[(SPh(2)P)(2)CSSC(PPh(2)S)(2)]} (5c). The elongated (C)S-S(C) bond (ca. 2.54 and 2.72 A) of the dianionic ligand observed in the solid-state structure of 5c indicate the presence of diradical character as supported by theoretical analyses. The treatment of [Li(tmeda)](2)[(SPh(2)P)(2)CSeSeC(PPh(2)S)(2)] (Li(2)·4b) and Li(2)·4c with AgOSO(2)CF(3) produce the analogous Ag(I) derivatives, {Ag(2)[(SPh(2)P)(2)CEEC(PPh(2)S)(2)]} (6b, E=Se; 6c, E=S), respectively. The disele…
Some fixed point theorems for generalized contractive mappings in complete metric spaces
2015
We introduce new concepts of generalized contractive and generalized alpha-Suzuki type contractive mappings. Then, we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of a fixed point of these classes of mappings on complete metric spaces and b-complete b-metric spaces. Our results extend the theorems of Ciric, Chatterjea, Kannan and Reich.
Fixed point theory for multivalued generalized nonexpansive mappings
2012
A very general class of multivalued generalized nonexpansive mappings is defined. We also give some fixed point results for these mappings, and finally we compare and separate this class from the other multivalued generalized nonexpansive mappings introduced in the recent literature.
Mappings of finite distortion: The zero set of the Jacobian
2003
This paper is part of our program to establish the fundamentals of the theory of mappings of finite distortion [6], [1], [8], [13], [14], [7] which form a natural generalization of the class of mappings of bounded distortion, also called quasiregular mappings. Let us begin with the definition. We assume that Ω ⊂ Rn is a connected open set. We say that a mapping f : Ω → Rn has finite distortion if:
Fixed point theory for 1-set contractive and pseudocontractive mappings
2013
The purpose of this paper is to study the existence and uniqueness of fixed point for a class of nonlinear mappings defined on a real Banach space, which, among others, contains the class of separate contractive mappings, as well as to see that an important class of 1-set contractions and of pseudocontractions falls into this type of nonlinear mappings. As a particular case, we give an iterative method to approach the fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping. Later on, we establish some fixed point results of Krasnoselskii type for the sum of two nonlinear mappings where one of them is either a 1-set contraction or a pseudocontraction and the another one is completely continuous, which extend …
Common fixed points for discontinuous mappings in fuzzy metric spaces
2008
In this paper we prove some common fixed point theorems for fuzzy contraction respect to a mapping, which satisfies a condition of weak compatibility. We deduce also fixed point results for fuzzy contractive mappings in the sense of Gregori and Sapena.
