Determinants and efficiency of Pakistan's chemical products' exports: An application of stochastic frontier gravity model.

The estimation of efficiency of industry-specific exports is very important to find exports' gap and to frame exports promotion policy for targeted industry. This study attempts to investigate the main determinants of chemical products' exports of Pakistan with 62 trading partners by applying Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) on an augmented gravity model for a period 1995-2015. The results corroborate that chemical products' exports follow gravity patterns. This study finds a negative and significant impact of import tariff on exports of chemical products while the positive impact of devaluation has been observed. Economic impact of medium-scale battery storage systems in presence of flexible electricity tariffs for end-user applications

This article addresses the question if it is cost-effective to use medium-scale battery storage systems for time-of-use (TMO) energy cost applications at a consumer level, assuming flexible electricity tariffs in the Italian electricity market. TMO application allows customers to reduce their electricity bill charging the storage when off-peak time periods are applied and discharge it during on-peak periods, when electricity energy prices are high. International trade in species that are or may be endangered by collection from the wild is regulated under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of wild fauna and flora (CITES) for 176 member States (Parties). Internet commerce is a relatively new route for such trade. In 2007, the CITES Secretariat asked Parties to collect information on internet wildlife trade and report problems and implemented regulations. Evaluación de las tarifas de las pensiones de accidentes de trabajo y enfermedades profesionales (2011-2015)

Este trabajo analiza si las tarifas que se aplican para la determinación del denominado capital coste de pensiones derivadas de los accidentes de trabajo y enfermedades profesionales son las adecuadas. A partir de los datos de la Muestra Continua de Vidas Laborales y de la evolución de la longevidad de la población general en España, se estiman tablas de mortalidad para las contingencias de viudedad e invalidez que, combinadas con los parámetros económicos y financieros apropiados, permiten construir las bases técnicas actuarialmente justas para cada uno de los años objeto de análisis. In this research, we examine the motives underlying fair trade product purchase through two studies using a means-end methodology. Considering the growth of fair trade product consumption and the expansion of its distribution in two different distribution networks, a first exploratory research has been led. It shows that motives and, more particularly, means-end chains underlying fair trade coffee purchase differ depending on the types of retail store chosen (specialized shop vs. Supermarket).
