L’oggetto dell’impugnazione nel sistema giuslavoristico delle decadenze oltre il licenziamento
2022
With judgements no. 30490/2021 and no. 40652/2021 the Supreme Court affirmed that if the employee, as part of a contract, claims that the relationship is attributed to another employer, there is no burden of appeal from the cessation of the activity, unless there is a written communication equivalent to a dismissal. The regulations regarding limitation are, in fact, strictly interpreted and are not susceptible of analogous application. The Author examines the two decisions in the light of the overall context of the rules on limitation through an analysis of the jurisprudence of legitimacy and merit, even if not in conformity, to finally clarify that the position taken by the Supreme Court i…
Tekst muzealny jako narzędzie angażowania publiczności muzealnej : w stronę nowego modelu komunikowania w muzeum
2018
Texts on labels are important because they form the main component of a museum’s communication model. The aim of this paper is to present and analyze how museums use texts to stimulate active involvement of their visitors. Their conclusions, based on analyses of museum texts in historical and art exhibitions, are as follows: museums use catchy titles to draw visitors’ attention; museums use active voice and emotive words to build more personal comment; museums use quotations to build connection between people and objects or history; museums place objects in cultural context. This analysis shows the process of transformation of museological approach to communication. Museums try to treat vis…
A Patchworking Process : Coming Together under Pandemic Conditions for Collaborative, Caring Scholarship
2021
In the context of the COVID-19 outbreak, the authors in this special issue came together within the Massive Microscopic Sensemaking (MMS) writing project in the spring of 2020. Collectively grappling with the impact of the extended pandemic, each paper in this issue touches on experiences of social isolation, making do, and a technological reaching out under conditions of a public health crisis. This introduction describes the issue’s ‘patchwork’ development which reflects an attempt to break from traditions of academic scholarship that often fail to recognize the value of emergent, and therefore uncertain, cross-disciplinary and collective work.
Listening to and Living With Networked Media During a Pandemic
2021
This article explores mediated listening from the perspective of intimacy during the first weeks of the coronavirus pandemic. The theoretical frame builds on the literature on listening and presence in mediated environments, audience engagement, and intimacy as meaningful connections. Methodologically, the study is connective ethnography, and the data was collected by collaborative autoethnography. Our data show that listening was an individual sensemaking strategy of the outside world and a means to form connectedness. Threading between different screens on digital platforms caused the collapse of public and private contexts, and through these, particular types of intimacy arose. When the …
Monitoring the issue arenas of the swine-flu discussion
2013
Purpose: This paper seeks to describe the changing organizational environment and stakeholder debate currently taking place in various “issue arenas” during a crisis. Organizations today need to find and monitor these arenas before being able to communicate with their stakeholders. Design/methodology/approach: Communications of authorities and discussions by citizens are studied and analyzed in a case study related to the 2009 swine flu or influenza A (H1N1) episode in Finland. The organizational point of view is studied through media releases of the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), and the citizen point of view through a content analysis of popular discussion online forums …
Social media in public diplomacy : survey on the social media communication of the Finnish missions abroad
2012
Today, social media is changing the way people communicate by giving the influence to the hands of the people. For organizations, it means that the issues of stakeholders are the focus of the communication, not the organizations. The question no longer is whether to use social media in public relations, but how to use it. In this research the social media communication of the Finnish missions abroad is studied. The missions have implemented social media as a part of their communication mainly since 2010. It is time to evaluate how the social media have been used so far, including an examination of what more social media can offer. It has been suggested that there is a need for re-evaluation…

Stakeholder anger - negative engagement towards organizations online : a literature review
2014
Synergy and social orientation as quality dimensions for the future communication policy
2009
In this paper it is argued, that nowadays synergy as a quality dimension for communication management needs to be balanced with social orientation. The inner-directedness needed for synergy should not lead to a rigid control. It needs to be balanced with outer-directedness in a continuous dialogue for the organization to be able to connect to the multiple stakeholders that are important for its functioning in today’s society. This balance is a value in framing the future communication policy. peerReviewed
