Economic impact of medium-scale battery storage systems in presence of flexible electricity tariffs for end-user applications

This article addresses the question if it is cost-effective to use medium-scale battery storage systems for time-of-use (TMO) energy cost applications at a consumer level, assuming flexible electricity tariffs in the Italian electricity market. TMO application allows customers to reduce their electricity bill charging the storage when off-peak time periods are applied and discharge it during on-peak periods, when electricity energy prices are high. A Comparative Analysis of Copy Number Variation of the Sheep and Goat Genomes

Recent studies have shown that copy number variants (CNVs) are important sources of variability of mammalian genomes. We applied a cross species array comparative genome hybridization (aCGH) experiment using as reference the cattle genome to investigate, for the first time, variability in the sheep and goat genomes derived from copy number variation and identified 431 and 358 CNVs, respectively. A comparison of these results to those obtained in other mammals for similar experiments is reported. This study in comparative physical education examines the curricula followed by physical-education teachers in China and France. It explores how theories of physical education and sport in each country have developed out of specific political, cultural and educational contexts, yet resulted in strong similarities in terms of the priority given to training programs. This thesis examines the contribution of ‘ethnic' background to the school experiences of educationally and socially disadvantaged students in the senior years of high school (n=927). To investigate the role both of ethnic identification and its interplay with institutional factors, a comparative analysis of secondary student experiences in two national settings was undertaken.
