Comparison of thermal expansion of wood and epoxy adhesives

Epoxy-based adhesives are used both in the consolidation of decayed timbers and for new structural joints. Investigating the compatibility of wood and epoxy adhesives provides a better knowledge of the long-term behaviour of wood-epoxy joints. Besides mechanical compatibility, also temperature-related parameters are relevant in this context. Phospholipid-polyaspartamide micelles for pulmonary delivery of corticosteroids

A novel drug delivery system for beclomethasone dipropionate (BDP) has been constructed through self-assembly of a pegylated phospholipid-polyaminoacid conjugate. This copolymer was obtained by chemical reaction of α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-DL-aspartamide (PHEA) with 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[amino(polyethyleneglycol)2000] (DSPE-PEG(2000)-NH(2)). New pegylated polyaspartamide-based polyplexes as gene delivery vectors

Aims: To synthesize novel polyhydroxyethylaspartamide (PHEA) copolymers containing spermine (Spm) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) moieties in high yields, with the expectation that this material would show stealth properties and the ability to complex DNA by electrostatic interactions. Formation of Calcium-Deficient Hydroxyapatite via Hydrolysis of Nano-Sized Pure Α-Tricalcium Phosphate

Nano-sized pure α-tricalcium phosphate (α-TCP) fabricated by a novel synthesis approach shows great potential for a faster transformation into calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite (CDHA) than conventionally prepared α-TCP. In this work, amorphous tricalcium phosphate precursors were precipitated and treated with a solvent (water or ethanol), and dried (freeze-dried and oven-dried) before heating at 775 °C. The electronics of AGATA HPGe segmented gamma ray detector faces a new challenge in the search of a bigger integration and cost reduction for the phase 2 of the experiment going beyond 45 crystals.
