Trends in Adolescent Overweight Perception and Its Association With Psychosomatic Health 2002–2014 : Evidence From 33 Countries
2017
Purpose Perceiving oneself as overweight is common and strongly associated with adolescents' subjective well-being. The prevalence of overweight perceptions and their impact on well-being may have increased over the past decade due to an increase in the salience of weight-related issues. Methods Data from 15-year-old adolescents were obtained between 2002 and 2014 in four rounds of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study in 33 countries in Europe and North America (N = 187,511). 2016
Objective: To determine the effect of a six-month aerobic exercise program on home-based sleep quality among overweight and obese men with chronic insomnia symptoms. Methods: Participants were 45 Finnish men (93% had body mass index >= 25) aged 30-65 years, with chronic months) insomnia symptoms as classified by the DSM-IV criteria. Participants were randomized into an exercise (n = 24) or control group (n = 21). The exercise group received six-month aerobic exercise intervention with one to five sessions per week of 30-60 minutes duration. The control group was instructed to maintain habitual lifestyle behaviors during the study period. Seven-night home sleep was measured with a piezoelect…
Sleep problems and subjective cognitive complaints among middle-aged and older adults in 45 low- and middle-income countries
2022
Background: Currently, a small body of evidence suggests that sleep problems are positively associated with subjective cognitive complaints (SCC). However, no studies on this topic exist from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Thus, we investigated the association between sleep problems and SCC in a large sample of middle-age and older adults from 45 LMICs. Methods: Cross-sectional, predominantly nationally representative, community-based data were analyzed from the World Health Survey. Sleep problems (such as difficulties falling asleep, waking up frequently during the night or waking up too early in the morning) in the last 30 days were self-reported. Two questions on subjective me…

Loneliness and subjective health complaints among school-aged children
2018
Aim: The first aim of this study was to explore the prevalence of loneliness and subjective health complaints (SHCs) among school-aged children in Finland. Descriptive statistics were used to examine the prevalence of health complaints and loneliness. Structural equation modelling was used to test how strongly loneliness was associated with SHCs. Results: The p…

The Mandatory Administrative Complaint-Mediation Filter, introduced by the Italian legislator in art. 17 bis of Legislative Decree 546/92, finds precedents not only in Europe, between western civil law countries closer to the Italian legal tradition but also in other continents. Among the out-of-court settlements systems for managing disputes adopted in other European jurisdictions, it shall pay attention on those applied in France, Germany and Spain. In all three countries there is a compulsory administrative phase before taking a legal action, applicable to the generality of tax disputes, irrespective of the value of the dispute. Among the precedents in other continents, attention will be…

2008
Understanding complaint channel usage in multichannel retailing
2019
Abstract This study aims to understand customer patterns of channel usage to voice complaints to multichannel retailers. Data were collected from multichannel shoppers for apparel in Spain by means of an online survey. Latent Class Analysis on complaint channel (store, website, mobile app and social media) usage was performed. The analysis identifies four customer segments that use complaint channels differently. Channel dependencies emerged, particularly related to mobile app usage. The study then explores how the identified patterns are related to channel usage for information search and purchase and to the quality of the relationship with the retailer. Results provide theoretical and man…
