Liquid–solid interfaces: structure and dynamics from spectroscopy and simulations

2014

Liquid–solid interfaces play an important role in a number of phenomena encountered in biological, chemical and physical processes. Surface-induced changes of the material properties are not only important for the solid support but also for the liquid itself. In particular, it is now well established that water at the interface is substantially different from bulk water, even in the proximity of apparently inert surfaces such as a simple metal. The complex chemistry at liquid–solid interfaces is typically fundamental to heterogeneous catalysis and electrochemistry, and has become especially topical in connection with the search for new materials for energy production. A quite remarkable exa…

A subthreshold, low-power, RHBD reference circuit, for earth observation and communication satellites

2015

A low-power, wide temperature range, radiation tolerant CMOS voltage reference is presented. The proposed reference circuit exhibits a voltage deviation of 0.8mV for 3-MeV protons total ionization dose of 2Mrad and a voltage deviation of 3.8mV for 10-keV X-rays total ionization dose of 4Mrad while being biased at the nominal supply voltage of 0.75V during X-ray irradiation. In addition, the circuit consumes only 4μW and exhibits a measured Temperature Drift of 15ppm/°C for a temperature range of 190°C (−60°C to 130°C) at the supply voltage of 0.75V. It utilizes only CMOS transistors, operating in the subthreshold regime, and poly-silicon resistors without using any diodes or external compon…

VIII Colloque International –VIII International Conference - A.S.I. Analyse Statistique Implicative ––Statistical Implicative Analysis

2015

Collaborative Teaching in the Italian "Liceo Matematico": A Case Study of Co-Planning and Co-Teaching

2020

This contribution is centred on a case study of collaborative teaching, carried out among Upper Secondary School Math teachers. Here we present the context, the forms of the implemented collaboration and the effects that derived from the collaborative teaching. The used investigation tool was the semi-structured interview aimed to induce teachers to gradually reflect on their self and their teaching modus operandi. From the qualitative analysis emerged that collaborative teaching integrated different ways of teaching; it has been a stimulus for a etching “revision” and the possibility to improve the didactic-educational practice. For all teachers this way to define the teaching activities w…

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATHEMATICS: RESOURCES AND OBSTACLES - ENSEIGNER ET APPRENDRE LES MATHEMATIQUES: RESSOURCES ET OBSTACLES. Actes/Proceedings CIE…

2015

The CIEAEM 67 conference was held in Aosta, Italy, from 21st to 24th July 2015 and successfully involved more than 120 participants from all over the world. Researchers, teachers, educators, and students from 20 countries (10 non-European) met to discuss, in a collaborative and inspiring environment, the most prominent problems, obstacles and resources in mathematics education; they also presented their latest research findings in the several conference activities: plenary talks, a round table, working groups, workshops, and poster presentations (forum of ideas). As in previous CIEAEM meetings, Working Groups constituted the beating heart of the conference, allowing the participants to frui…

Complementary Judgment Matrix Method with Imprecise Information for Multicriteria Decision-Making

2018

The complementary judgment matrix (CJM) method is an MCDA (multicriteria decision aiding) method based on pairwise comparisons. As in AHP, the decision-maker (DM) can specify his/her preferences using pairwise comparisons, both between different criteria and between different alternatives with respect to each criterion. The DM specifies his/her preferences by allocating two nonnegative comparison values so that their sum is 1. We measure and pinpoint possible inconsistency by inconsistency errors. We also compare the consistency of CJM and AHP trough simulation. Because preference judgments are always more or less imprecise or uncertain, we introduce a way to represent the uncertainty throu…

Using Principle of Complementarity when Diagnosing Complex Logistic Activities by Applying Alternative Approach

2012

The paper considers the problem of obtaining new data in process of diagnostics of a recognized transportation company. Such knowledge should not contradict to existing theories and objective means, but should be aimed instead at improving the diagnoses issued. By investigating the methodological problem by virtue of the principle of complementarity, the goals of making fundamental changes are achieved without disturbing the efficiency of the enterprise activities.
