Development of trackable metal-based drugs: new generation of therapeutic agents

2016

International audience; In medicinal chemistry, the aim is not only to conceive ever more efficient molecules, but also to understand their mechanism of action. In very recent years, a new promising strategy was developed to tackle this issue: the conception of trackable therapeutic agents. Metal-based drugs are ideal to exploit this expanding area of research.

Differenza, autonomia, complessità organizzazionale. Dialettica del pensiero complesso in Edgar Morin

2012

"I know that humanity needs politics. That this politics needs anthroposociology. That anthroposociology needs to be linked to the science of nature...". Edgar Morin (1921), the "traveler of complexity", as he himself likes to call himself, proposes to "reorganize our mental system", the "structure of knowledge", precisely starting from the "revelation of the true structure of reality". The philosophical significance of Morin's thought, compared to the scientific approach, can be seen in the fact that it proposes to make the reality of our universe rise to the dignity of ontological principles, concepts elaborated within the gnoseological and epistemological. This research aims to present t…

Chiral α-P,N Ligands From a Diastereoselective Ph2PH Addition to (η6-Benzaldimine)tricarbonylchromium Complexes

1999

International audience; Chiral α-aminophosphane (α-P–C–N) ligands have been prepared by reversible addition of Ph2PH to tricarbonylchromium benzaldimine complexes (CO)3Cr[η6-o-C6H4(Y)(CH=NR)] (with Y, R = CH3, CH3 or CH2COOCH3; CH3O, CH3 or p-CH3OC6H4; Cl, C6H5), with complete diastereoselectivity. These complexes are stabilized in solution by electron-withdrawing group(s) on the imine.

Diastereoselective Synthesis of Dialkylated Bis(phosphino)ferrocenes: Their Use in Promoting Silver-Mediated Nucleophilic Fluorination of Chloroquino…

2017

International audience; The diastereoselective synthesis of dialkylated ferrocenyl bis(phosphane)s bearing aryl, alkyl, and hetero- or polycyclic substituents on the phosphino groups is reported, together with their characterization in the solid state by X-ray structure analysis and in solution by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. Introduction of various alkyl groups on the ferrocene backbone, namely, tert-butyl, isopropyl, and trimethylsilyl, has a significant influence on the stereoselectivity of the ensuing lithiation/phosphination reactions. Only the introduction of the tert-butyl groups ensures both a high yield and perfect diastereoselectivity, which leads to the exclusive formation of t…

The importance of a highly active and DeltapH-regulated diatoxanthin epoxidase for the regulation of the PS II antenna function in diadinoxanthin cyc…

2005

The present study focuses on the regulation of diatoxanthin (Dtx) epoxidation in the diadinoxanthin (Ddx) cycle containing algae Phaeodactylum tricornutum, Thalassiosira pseudonana, Cyclotella meneghiniana and Prymnesium parvum and its significance for the control of the photosystem II (PS II) antenna function. Our data show that Dtx epoxidase can exhibit extremely high activities when algal cells are transferred from high light (HL) to low light (LL). Under HL conditions, Dtx epoxidation is strongly inhibited by the light-driven proton gradient. Uncoupling of the cells during HL illumination restores the high epoxidation rates observed during LL. In Ddx cycle containing algae, non-photoche…

Atom Transfer Radical Addition Catalyzed by Ruthenium–Arene Complexes Bearing a Hybrid Phosphine–Diene Ligand

2018

International audience; The synthesis and characterization of a series of arene ruthenium complexes bearing either (3,5-cycloheptadienyl)diphenylphosphine or (cycloheptyl)-diphenylphosphine are reported. Upon irradiation or heating, all these complexes lose their arene ligand but then exhibit a different behavior depending on the nature of the phosphine ligand. (Cycloheptadienyl)phosphine complexes 1 and 3 give a cationic dinuclear Ru complex 5 for which the two Ru atoms are bridged by three chlorido ligands and flanked by two tridendate (cycloheptadienyl)phosphines. (Cycloheptyl)-diphenylphosphine complexes 2 and 4 undergo arene exchange when toluene is used as solvent or degrade in dithlo…

Propyl substituted 4-arylimino-1,2,3-trihydroacridylnickel complexes: Their synthesis, characterization and catalytic behavior toward ethylene

2015

Propyl substituted 4-arylimino-1,2,3-trihydroacridylnickel dihalide complexes were designed and prepared by metal-induced template reaction with NiCl2 center dot 6H(2)O or (DME)NiBr2. They were characterized by infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Single crystal X-ray crystallography of representative complex Ni3 revealed a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry around nickel. The catalytic activities of the title nickel complexes were negatively affected by propyl substituent on their backbone when comparing with the results by unsubstituted ones. With the activation of diethylaluminium chloride, all nickel complexes exhibited moderate activity (up to 5.10 x 10(5) g mol(-1)(Ni) h…

Achieving branched polyethylene waxes by aryliminocycloocta[b]pyridylnickel precatalysts: Synthesis, characterization, and ethylene polymerization

2017

Cycloocta[b]pyridin-10-one was prepared to form the corresponding imino derivatives, which then reacted with (DME)NiBr2 to form 10-aryliminocycloocta[b]pyridylnickel bromides (Ni1–Ni5). The new compounds were characterized by means of FT-IR spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis and the organic ligands were also analyzed by the NMR measurements. Furthermore, the molecular structure of a representative complex Ni3 was determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction, indicating the distorted tetrahedral geometry around the nickel atom. Upon the activation with either methylaluminoxane (MAO) or diethylaluminium chloride (Et2AlCl), the title nickel complexes exhibited high activity in et…

Development of a new peat-based oil sorbent using peat pyrolysis

2013

The growing use and transport of crude oil and oil products has led to increasing numbers of oil spillages of various scales. Oil sorbents have been extensively used for remediation of the consequences of such accidents. The aim of this study is to investigate the possible use of peat and its thermal treatment products for oil sorption. Peat as an oil sorbent has poor buoyancy characteristics, relatively low oil sorption capacity and low hydrophobicity. However, thermal treatment (low-temperature pyrolysis and synthesis of peat-based activated coal) helps to significantly improve its sorptive characteristics. Peat is a potential material for oil sorption because it has such advantages as lo…
