Pancreatic islet transplantation is emerging as a therapeutic approach for patients affected by diabetes. This approach consists of a minimally invasive procedure replacing insulin-producing cells (pancreatic islets). The technique has been proven successful, but limitations have been identified. Epilepsy is a common brain disorder that causes patients to face multiple seizures in a single day. Around 65 million people are affected by epilepsy worldwide. Patients with focal epilepsy can be treated with surgery, whereas generalized epileptic seizures can be managed with medications. Do E-Athletes Move?

This article offers possibly the first peer-reviewed study on the training routines of elite e-athletes with special focus on the subjects' physical exercise routines. The study is based on a sample of 115 elite e-athletes. According to the responses, e-athletes train approximately 5.28 hours every day around the year on the elite level. Approximately 1.08 hours of that training is physical exercise. Ethanol is the main by-product of yeast sugar fermentation that affects microbial growth parameters, being considered a dual molecule, a nutrient and a stressor. Previous works demonstrated that the budding yeast arose after an ancient hybridization process resulted in a tier of duplicated genes within its genome, many of them with implications in this ethanol “produce-accumulate-consume” strategy. The evolutionary link between ethanol production, consumption, and tolerance versus ploidy and stability of the hybrids is an ongoing debatable issue. En el presente trabajo se presentan los datos de una investigación realizada en la Universidad de Valencia en la que se analiza la percepción del alumnado sobre las competencias docentes del profesorado del área de Ciencias Sociales y Jurídicas. En el estudio participaron un total de 389 estudiantes universitarios de 10 titulaciones diferentes de la Universitat de València. En general, las 32 competencias son valoradas por los sujetos de la muestra como muy importantes en el proceso de enseñanza/aprendizaje.
