Steroidal supramolecular metallogels

The review deals with an expanding number of steroidal compounds that are capable of forming a metallogel providing a multitude of novel materials rich in their properties. The future of steroidal metallogels holds a myriad of potential applications as new intelligent materials. Detection of potentially harmful compounds without expensive instrumentation, entrapment of environmentally hazardous substances, and sensitive and selective nanomaterials represent only a few of these potential applications. The implications of teachers’ implicit theories for moral education: A case study from Finland

Implicit theories concerning the malleability of human qualities are known to have a powerful impact on motivation and learning, but their role in moral education is an under-researched topic. In this qualitative case study, we examined the impact of implicit theories on four Finnish teachers’ practices of teaching morally and in teaching morality. The data include preliminary and stimulated recall interviews (STR) as well as classroom observations. Our results demonstrate the multiple ways in which teachers’ implicit beliefs are communicated to students and influence teacher’s interpretations and endeavors to educate the ethical capabilities of students. Using uncertain preferential information from stakeholders to assess the acceptability of alternative forest management plans

In forest management planning, participatory planning processes are often encouraged as a means to acquire relevant information and to enhance the stakeholders' acceptability of alternative plans. This requires the aggregation of the stakeholders' preferences that can be done in a wide variety of manners. The aggregation process strives to reduce the information into a single set of preferences that simplifies the information and allows for the use of discrete decision support tools. Stability of stochastic nonlinear systems with state-dependent switching

In this paper, the problem of stability on stochastic systems with state-dependent switching is investigated. To analyze properties of the switched system by means of Itô’s formula and Dynkin’s formula, it is critical to show switching instants being stopping times. When the given active-region set can be replaced by its interior, the local solution of the switched system is constructed by defining a series of stopping times as switching instants, and the criteria on global existence and stability of solution are presented by Lyapunov approach.
