EDUCACION PARA LA CONVIVENCIA COMO CONTENIDO CURRICULAR: PROPUESTAS DE INTERVENCION EN EL AULA
2018
Education for co-existence is becoming a priority in many educational centres, to the extent that they are being overwhelmed by high levels of conflictiveness in the classroom. Making it necessary for teachers to equip themselves with new methods and techniques in order to face the problem in a global and precautionary way. In this article I analyze the matter from a curricular point of view, in considering that education for co-existence constitutes a content, or a group of contents concerning attitude, which must be the aim of teaching, learning and evaluation. The proposals for participation are based on four important areas: Educative Project, Climate of Democratic Participation, Class …
Enhancing Mathematics Learning Through Peer Assessment Using Mobile Tablet Based Solutions
2013
Doktorgradsavhandling i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi, Universitetet i Agder, Grimstad, 2013 Higher education is facing unprecedented challenges with an increasing demand for high quality education, driven by tougher global competition. Student numbers are fast growing at most universities, whereas the sources of funding are not proportionally increasing. Subsequently, the teaching staff’s workload gets higher and higher hence putting the quality standards at risk. As class sizes increase, it becomes more difficult to learn in a highly teacher-controlled environment, since the teacher cannot sufficiently address individual student’s needs. Therefore, a teacher should be conceptua…
Modes of Study Handbook for Students and Educators
2021
The aim of this handbook is to support the further development of multilingual and multimodal approaches to academic study at JYU. This handbook has been developed within the Faculty of Education and Psychology as part of the Creating Space pedagogical development project during the 2019-2020 academic year, drawing on and developing existing study guides by JYU . We hope, however, that this handbook is useful beyond our Faculty and that it adds language and cultural considerations to the existing study guides. We have provided brief explanations of different types of assignments and academic activities that are part of academic study and relevant to teaching in higher education. We have als…
Development of teaching-modules in computational Mathematics and STACK in cooperation with students
2017
We report a project assigned to two second year bachelor students. They create two modules that first year students in electronics test out in February 2017. In module one they create a small course in Computational Mathematics using Maxima to solve problems in Integration. In module two they create a training course in STACK. STACK is an advanced Computer Aided Assessment system for mathematics which goes well beyond relying on multiple choice and other selected response question types. In particular, random versions of a particular question are generated in a structured mathematical way. The main goal of the project is that, under staff guidance, students create a test in STACK for studen…

ANALYSIS OF STUDENT PERCEPTIONS ON THE QUALITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN ROMANIA
2012
This article aims to identify and analyze the perception of students, beneficiaries of educational services in the state and private systems on the quality of higher education services, by using specific tools of marketing research. The perception is a psychological variable influencing consumer behavior.Itis important in the educational services, given the present state of Romanian education, where the educational offer is not correlated with the labor market demand, which can lead to major imbalances in the educational market. The quality of the educational services is a social desirable objective, and its contribution to increased economic efficiency is decisive.

Mathematics Video Podcasts as Integrated Elements of Online Lessons in Further University Education: In-Service Teachers’ Flow Experiences
2017
This case-study examined in-service teachers’ perceptions of learning by means of online mathematic lessons consisting of a mix of text and video podcasts. The investigation is part of further university education directed at practicing teachers in lower secondary schools. The course was a distant education course, with in-service teachers learning online only. The research, based on a series of questionnaires and follow-up interviews, examined whether in-service teachers perceived that video podcasts embedded in online lessons fostered their learning compared to reading similar material. The study focused on efficiency, enjoyment, and concentration as perceived conditions for learning in c…
