Managing for resilience: an information theory-based approach to assessing ecosystems

Ecosystems are complex and multivariate; hence, methods to assess the dynamics of ecosystems should have the capacity to evaluate multiple indicators simultaneously. Most research on identifying leading indicators of regime shifts has focused on univariate methods and simple models which have limited utility when evaluating real ecosystems, particularly because drivers are often unknown. Stock Volatility Predictability in Bull and Bear Markets

Recent literature on stock return predictability suggests that it varies substantially across economic states being strongest during bad economic times. In line with this evidence, we document that stock volatility predictability is also state dependent. In particular, using a large data set of high-frequency data on individual stocks and a few popular time-series volatility models, in this paper we comprehensively examine how volatility forecastability varies across bull and bear states of the stock market. The relationship between organizational interdependency and additionality obtained from innovation ecosystem participation

Abstract Despite the increased interest in innovation ecosystems, few studies have assessed the extent to which the proclaimed benefits from participating in such ecosystems also occur, and under which circumstances they do occur. Uniting the literature on organizational interdependence and social exchange theory, we assess the behavioral and output additionality obtained by innovation ecosystem participants. The idea of the paper was inspired by link between the process of digital skills` acquiring and the evolving digital divide. There are referred some evaluations on the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as related to different facets of computer and internet skills. Some methods are involved to make a picture of the current situation on Romania in this domain: comparative statistical analysis, and the decile approach and z-scores. The countries of interest were Sweden and Finland as very competitive EU state members in the development of the information and knowledge society and economy and the newest EU state members Romania and Bulgaria.
