Gas-phase selective oxidation of chloro- and methoxy-substituted toluenes on TiO2–Sepiolite supported vanadium oxides

2009

Abstract Catalytic behaviour of vanadium oxide systems (5–20 wt.% V2O5) supported on TiO2–Sepiolite (with titania loading around the theoretical monolayer, 12 wt.%, 12Ti–Sep) and, as reference, on Sepiolite calcined (Sepc) in the p-substituted toluene derivatives selective oxidation was studied. In all the catalysts studied p-chloro (p-ClBA) and p-methoxybenzaldehyde (p-MeOBA) were the main products. The yields to benzaldehydes obtained with %V/12Ti–Sep are comparable with some of those reported in the literature under similar kinetically controlled experimental conditions (Sp-ClBA = 70% and X = 19% were obtained at 653 K on 20 V/12Ti–Sep). The activity for benzaldehyde derivatives formatio…

A DFT study of the role of the Mg complex formation on the mechanism of the 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions of benzonitrile oxides with acryloylpyrazolidi…

2010

Abstract The role of the Mg complex formation on the mechanism, the reaction rate and regioselectivity of the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition (13DC) reactions of benzonitrile oxides (BNOs) towards electron-deficient acryloylpyrazolidinones has been theoretically studied using DFT methods at the 6-31G* level. These 13DC reactions have asynchronous concerted mechanism with a non-polar character. These cycloadditions present a slight 5-regioselectivity induced by a steric repulsion between the phenyl substituent of the BNOs and the pyrazolidinone appendage present on the acryloyl derivative, which increases with the formation of the bulky Mg–acryloylpyrazolidinone complex. The present DFT study poin…

Prestació Vinculada a Servei i Prestació Vinculada de Garantia

2020

This paper explains the economic benefit of Dependency System linked to acquire a service outside the public network. It details who can be the recipient and the requirements to access the benefit. In the last part it focu…

A PM3 study of the molecular mechanism for the cycloaddition between cyclopentadiene and protonated pyridine-imine derivatives

2001

Abstract The molecular mechanism of the cycloaddition reaction between cyclopentadiene (CP) and three pyridine-imine derivatives has been studied by means of PM3 semiempirical method. The role of the protonation, endo/exo and π-facial stereoselectivity are analyzed and discussed. In neutral conditions the cycloaddition between CP and the pyridine-imine takes place along a concerted mechanism. Protonation on both nitrogen atoms brings out that the reaction pathway takes with a very low barrier along a stepwise mechanism. PM3 results are capable to find the key factors governing this chemical reaction and to explain the experimental outcome.

Nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) concerted evolution in natural and artificial hybrids of Armeria (Plumbaginaceae)

1999

Nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences from artificial hybrids and backcrosses between Armeria villosa ssp. longiaristata and A. colorata were studied to assess the possible effects of concerted evolution in natural hybrids. F1 artificial hybrids show the expected pattern of additive polymorphisms for five of the six variable sites as estimated from direct sequences. However, homogenization of polymorphism is already observed in the F2, and is biased towards A. colorata except for one site. In backcrosses, an expected tendency towards homogenization of polymorphic sites in the direction of the recurrent parent is observed for five sites, although this does…

Straight into the Eyes - Jacek Łumiński and the Silesian Dance Theatre (1991-2011)

2020

The fi nal decade of the 20 th century was the turning-point for the development of Polish contemporary dance. In 1991 Jacek Łuminski established the Silesian Dance Theatre in Bytom. The theatre is said to be in the avant-garde of all activities related to contemporary dance development in Poland. It was J. Łuminski and his theatre who pioneered new trends in contemporary dance at the beginning of the nineties of the 20 th century, at the same time they have conducted educational activity over the intervening twenty years. The aim of this article is to present the artistic and educational activity of the Silesian Dance Theatre of the recent twenty years. In the beginning the author presents…

Recensione a Vjera Katalinic, Violinski koncerti Ivana Jarnovica: glazbeni aspekt i drustveni kontekst njihova uspjeha u 18. stoljecu (2006, in "The …

2008

Mismatches between objective parameters and measured perception assessment in room acoustics: a holistic approach

2014

Psychoacoustic research in the field of concert halls has revealed that many aspects concerning listening perception have yet to be totally understood. On the one hand, the objective room acoustics of performance spaces are reflected in parameters, some standardized and some not, but these are related to a limited number of perceptual attributes of human response. In general, these objective parameters cannot accurately describe the acoustic details due to their inherent simplification. Under these premises, impulse responses (576 receivers) are measured in 16 concert halls, according to standard procedures, and the perception and satisfaction of the occupants of the rooms are evaluated by …

Partial Sequence Homogenization in the 5S Multigene Families May Generate Sequence Chimeras and Spurious Results in Phylogenetic Reconstructions

2014

Multigene families have provided opportunities for evolutionary biologists to assess molecular evolution processes and phylogenetic reconstructions at deep and shallow systematic levels. However, the use of these markers is not free of technical and analytical challenges. Many evolutionary studies that used the nuclear 5S rDNA gene family rarely used contiguous 5S coding sequences due to the routine use of head-to-tail polymerase chain reaction primers that are anchored to the coding region. Moreover, the 5S coding sequences have been concatenated with independent, adjacent gene units in many studies, creating simulated chimeric genes as the raw data for evolutionary analysis. This practice…
