The Big Five Inventory (BFI) is a self-report measure designed to assess the high-order personality traits of Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, and Openness. As part of the International Sexuality Description Project, the BFI was translated from English into 28 languages and administered to 17,837 individuals from 56 nations. The resulting cross-cultural data set was used to address three main questions: Does the factor structure of the English BFI fully replicate across cultures? ABSTRACT Motivational strategies are among the most promising approaches to improve the effectiveness of batterer intervention programs (BIPs). An individualized motivational plan (IMP) is one of these motivational strategies. El estudio se realizó con 190 participantes, 140 afectados de FM y 50 no afectados, entre 28 y 75 años (M= 52,16; DT= 9,18), 10 varones y 180 mujeres. Ohmic treatment of fresh foods: Effect on textural properties

The aim of this work was to verify the effects of ohmic heating (OH) treatment on texture of fresh solid food (without pre-treatment in brine solutions), subjected to constant electrical field gradient (1100 V/m; 2200 V/m; 3300 V/m). Samples of fresh potatoes, carrots and apples cut into cylinders (d = 30 mm, h = 9.0 mm) underwent OH for 60, 120, 180 and 240 seconds. Texture measurements were performed in a universal testing machine Instron 4301, with a 100 N load cell, using a single-cycle compression test. The raw untreated sample was used as control. The Effect of Electronic Properties of Anodized and Hard Anodized Ti and Ti6Al4V on Their Reactivity in Simulated Body Fluid

The electronic properties of barrier and porous layers on Ti and Ti6Al4V were studied. Barrier anodic oxides grown to 40 V on Ti and on Ti6Al4V are both n-type semiconductors with a band gap of 3.3 eV and 3.4 eV respectively, in agreement with the formation of amorphous TiO2. Anodizing to 200 V at 20 mA cm−2 in calcium acetate and β-glycerol phosphate disodium pentahydrate leads to the formation of Ca and P containing porous films with a photoelectrochemical behaviour dependent on the metallic substrate. Magnetic and structural study of (Fe1−Co )62 Nb8B30 bulk amorphous alloys

Abstract The electric and magnetic properties of rapidly quenched (Fe 1− x Co x ) 62 Nb 8 B 30 bulk metallic glasses were studied with x =0, 0.33 and 0.50. The Curie temperature in the amorphous state was found to be about 245 °C for the Co-free alloy, 290 °C for x =0.33 and 201 °C for x =0.50, while the crystallization temperature is varying within 15° only around 600 °C. The change in T C correlates with the change in Mossbauer parameters. An interesting flattening effect of annealing on the hysteresis loop was observed which increases with the Co content. The resistivity could not be improved above 152 μΩ cm, which limits the high frequency applications of these alloys.

Abstract The dependence of electrical resistivity ρ ( T ) on temperature T in a region of moderate temperatures is considered for amorphous simple metals. It is shown within the Faber–Ziman theory that the ratio [ ρ ( T )− ρ (0)]/ T 2 has a maximum in the temperature region 10 K⩽ T ⩽100 K The theory is illustrated by numerical calculations performed for hard-sphere models of amorphous Mg and Zn.
Finite-size scaling of charge carrier mobility in disordered organic semiconductors

Simulations of charge transport in amorphous semiconductors are often performed in microscopically sized systems. As a result, charge carrier mobilities become system-size dependent. We propose a simple method for extrapolating a macroscopic, nondispersive mobility from the system-size dependence of a microscopic one. The method is validated against a temperature-based extrapolation [A. Lukyanov and D. Andrienko, Phys. Rev. B 82, 193202 (2010)]. In addition, we provide an analytic estimate of system sizes required to perform nondispersive charge transport simulations in systems with finite charge carrier density, derived from a truncated Gaussian distribution.
