Le donne di Cain sembrano liberarsi gradualmente del loro ruolo di subalterne e impadronirsi della scena del racconto fino a dare addirittura il titolo al romanzo, nome proprio della protagonista nel caso di Mildred Pierce e appellativo infamante nell’ultimo romanzo postumo, La ragazza dei cocktail. E inoltre la novità del loro ruolo centrale viene avvalorata da un cambiamento decisivo nella narrazione di Cain, la scelta della terza persona, che pone una distanza tra il narratore-autore reale e la protagonista, ma produce una maggiore presa di contatto tra la protagonista e il pubblico femminile, come avviene in Mildred Pierce e nella prima versione de La ragazza dei cocktail.

This paper analyses the first printed editions of the Gallican Confession (agreed upon at the synod of Paris in May 1559) and formulates a hypothesis on the context in which they were published and disseminated. Analysis is based on abridged editions of the Confession in Latin and in French, printed in Geneva and Strasbourg, and featuring a preface authored by pastor Antoine de Chandieu. Although the ministers assembled in Paris in 1559 promulgated a confession in 40 articles, only 35 articles were included in these editions (which are dated 1559, but were ostensibly printed in the first half of 1560). Questo articolo analizza l'approvazione della Confessione di Fede durante quello che viene chiamato il primo sinodo nazionale delle Chiese Riformate di Francia, tenutosi a Parigi nel maggio 1559. Secondo la storiografia, i pastori riuniti a Parigi avrebbero modificato e promulgato il testo della Confessione da una bozza redatta e inviata ai parroci da Calvino. This dissertation and the four separate articles contained therein examine Finnish pastors as builders of the Swedish state from the 1550s to the 1610s. The subject is studied from three perspectives. First, the relationship between the crown and the church (and the pastors) is explored. Second, the study investigates the relationship between the pastors and local communities. The third aspect connects the first two as it sheds light on the pastors’ role as intermediators between local communities and the crown. This study explores the writings of Sylvia Plath Forum, a discussion forum in the Internet that was launched in 1998. Using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis, Chaïm Perelman’s theory of argumentation, Kenneth Burke’s idea of identification as the basis of rhetoric, and René Girards’s theory of mimetic desire as its framework this study looks into the forum’s meaning-making processes and the ways the author Sylvia Plath (1932-1963) and her readers are represented on the forum. Ewangelista Jan zaprezentował w swoim dziele różne wymiary wiary w zmartwychwstałego Jezusa. Umiłowany uczeń uwierzył po zobaczeniu pustego grobu, w którym pozostały tylko płótna i chusta (J 20,8). Maria Magdalena uwierzyła po tym, jak przemówił do niej uwielbiony Chrystus, którego wcześniej pomyliła z ogrodnikiem (J 20,14-16). Uczniowie uwierzyli wówczas, gdy ujrzeli swego zmartwychwstałego Mistrza i Jego rany (J 20,20). Tomasz wyzbył się swych wątpliwości i uwierzył pod wpływem spotkania z Jezusem, który pozwolił mu nie tylko oglądać, lecz również dotknąć swych rąk i boku (J 20,24-28).
