On the Landis conjecture for the fractional Schrödinger equation

In this paper, we study a Landis-type conjecture for the general fractional Schrödinger equation ((−P)s+q)u=0. As a byproduct, we also prove the additivity and boundedness of the linear operator (−P)s for non-smooth coefficents. For differentiable potentials q, if a solution decays at a rate exp (−∣x∣1+), then the solution vanishes identically. For non-differentiable potentials q, if a solution decays at a rate exp (−∣x∣4s−14s+), then the solution must again be trivial. The proof relies on delicate Carleman estimates. Fractional Maximal Functions in Metric Measure Spaces

Abstract We study the mapping properties of fractional maximal operators in Sobolev and Campanato spaces in metric measure spaces. We show that, under certain restrictions on the underlying metric measure space, fractional maximal operators improve the Sobolev regularity of functions and map functions in Campanato spaces to Hölder continuous functions. We also give an example of a space where fractional maximal function of a Lipschitz function fails to be continuous.
Faint γ-ray sources at low redshift: the radio galaxy IC 1531

We present amultiwavelength study of IC 1531 (z=0.02564), an extragalactic radio source associated with the γ -ray object 3FGL J0009.9-3206 and classified as a blazar of uncertain type in the Third Fermi-Large Area Telescope AGN catalog (3LAC). A core-jet structure, visible in radio and X-rays, is enclosed within a ~220 kpc wide radio structure. The morphology and spectral characteristics of the kiloparsec jet in radio and X-rays are typical of Fanaroff-Riley type I galaxies. The analysis of the radio data and optical spectrum and different diagnostic methods based on the optical, infrared, and γ -ray luminosities also support a classification as a low-power RG seen at moderate angles (θ = …
Absolute kinematics of radio source components in the complete S5 polar cap sample

We report on the first wide-field, high-precision astrometric analysis of the 13 extragalactic radio sources of the complete S5 polar cap sample at 15.4 GHz. We describe new algorithms developed to enable the use of differenced phase delays in wide-field astrometric observations and discuss the impact of using differenced phase delays on the precision of the wide-field astrometric analysis. From this global fit, we obtained estimates of the relative source positions with precisions ranging from 14 to 200 μas at 15.4 GHz, depending on the angular separation of the sources (from ∼1.6 to ∼20.8 degrees). On Descriptive Characterizations of an Integral Recovering a Function from Its $$L^r$$-Derivative

The notion of Lr-variational measure generated by a function F ∈ Lr[a, b] is introduced and, in terms of absolute continuity of this measure, a descriptive characterization of the HKr -integral recovering a function from its Lr-derivative is given. It is shown that the class of functions generating absolutely continuous Lr-variational measure coincides with the class of ACGr -functions which was introduced earlier, and that both classes coincide with the class of the indefinite HKr-integrals under the assumption of Lr-differentiability almost everywhere of the functions consisting these classes
