Fostering Heuristic Strategies in Mathematics Teacher Education

International audience; The “double discontinuity” stated by Felix Klein 1908 is still relevant in the mathematics teacher education at German universities. We are developing a course approach, which is intended to bridge the double discontinuity in a didactic dimension. We offer additional learning opportunities for teacher students, which are characterized by clarifications of mathematical methods that are fundamental to the regular lecture contents. We focus especially on reflections on heuristic strategies, which are the core part of mathematical methods according to George Pólya. Feedback shows that students consider our approach as helpful in the transition from school to university.

La terapia electroconvulsiva (TEC) es un tratamiento eficaz y seguro, tanto en la depresión unipolar como en la bipolar, así como en la manía fármacorresistente. Sin embargo, su efecto es limitado en el tiempo, ya que las tasas de recaída y recurrencia en el primer año son elevadas, de hasta el 50-60%. Estas se van a producir fundamentalmente en los primeros 6 meses tras la interrupción del tratamiento con TEC, a pesar de que se mantenga un tratamiento farmacológico óptimo. In this context, the identification of the factors that influence the thermo-hygrometric equilibrium is key to determine the causes of cultural heritage deterioration. In this work, a characterization of the thermo-hygrometric conditions of Casa di Diana (Ostia Antica, Italy) is carried out analyzing the data of temperature and relative humidity recorded by a system of sensors with high monitoring frequency. This chapter explores how experientially based pedagogical activities that involve participation in real life service encounters provide occasions for developing L2 interactional competence. The data comprises novice L2 students’ self-recorded interactions in service settings and videorecordings of classroom planning activities and de-briefing discussions, where the students reflect on their experiences. The analysis traces what kinds of occasions for learning arise as the students move between the classroom and the real-world service settings. Background: Transanal irrigation (TAI) is employed for children with fecal incontinence, but it can present several problems which require a study of their outcomes among different pathologies and without a tailored work up. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effectiveness of an advanced protocol in order to tailor TAI, prevent complications, and evaluate outcomes.
