Reproducing pairs of measurable functions

We analyze the notion of reproducing pair of weakly measurable functions, which generalizes that of continuous frame. We show, in particular, that each reproducing pair generates two Hilbert spaces, conjugate dual to each other. Several examples, both discrete and continuous, are presented.

Stoïlow’s theorem revisited

Stoilow's theorem from 1928 states that a continuous, open, and light map between surfaces is a discrete map with a discrete branch set. This result implies that such maps between orientable surfaces are locally modeled by power maps z -> z(k) and admit a holomorphic factorization. The purpose of this expository article is to give a proof of this classical theorem having readers in mind that are interested in continuous, open and discrete maps. (C) 2019 Elsevier GmbH. Background and aim: In June 2017, University and Health Ministries jointly enacted a decree imple-menting a new accreditation system for the Italian post-graduate medical schools (residency programs). We report the innovations introduced through the reform. On some bifurcation analysis techniques for continuous systems

This paper is devoted to techniques in bifurcation analysis for continuous mechanical systems, concentrating on polynomial equations and implicitly given functions. These are often encountered in problems of mechanics and especially in stability analysis. Taking a classical approach, we summarize the relevant features of the cubic polynomial equation, and present some new aspects for asymptotics and parametric representation of the solutions. This is followed by a brief look into the implicit function theorem as a tool for analyzing bifurcations. As an example from mechanics, we consider bifurcations in the transverse free vibration problem of an axially compressed beam. peerReviewed

Attractor as a convex combination of a set of attractors

This paper presents an effective approach to constructing numerical attractors of a general class of continuous homogenous dynamical systems: decomposing an attractor as a convex combination of a set of other existing attractors. For this purpose, the convergent Parameter Switching (PS) numerical method is used to integrate the underlying dynamical system. The method is built on a convergent fixed step-size numerical method for ODEs. The paper shows that the PS algorithm, incorporating two binary operations, can be used to approximate any numerical attractor via a convex combination of some existing attractors. Deep learning for the automated detection of epileptic seizures has received much attention during recent years. In this work, one dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) and two dimensional convolutional neural network (2D-CNN) are simultaneously used on electroencephalogram (EEG) data for seizure detection. Firstly, using sliding windows without overlap on raw EEG to obtain the definite one-dimension time EEG segments (1D-T), and continuous wavelet transform (CWT) for 1D-T signals to obtain the two-dimension time-frequency representations (2D-TF). Influence of Offline Activities and Customer Value Creation on Online Travel Community Continuance Usage Intention

The purpose of this study is to empirically test a model that examines the roles of offline activities and customer value creation on tourists’ continuance use of online travel communities (OTCs). Hypotheses were tested through a sample of 251 respondents on Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk). SmartPLS structural equation modelling was used to test the structural model. Results indicated that offline activities significantly influence hedonic and social values, while this support was not found with functional value.
