Vibration control of vehicle engine-body systems with time delay: an LMI approach

2013

The objective of this chapter is to study the problem of vibration control analysis and synthesis in a vehicle engine-body vibration structure. It is assumed that the actuator is subject to a time-varying delay for control of bounce and pitch vibrations. Based on a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using some free weighting matrices, delay-dependent sufficient conditions for designing desired state- and output-feedback controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The state- and output-feedback controllers, which guarantee asymptotic stability with a prescribed γ-level L2-gain (or H∞ performance), are then developed directly instead of coupling the second-order model…

Actuators and sensors allocation for adjacent buildings vibration control

2012

This paper puts forward an actuators and sensors allocation approach to the design of the adjacent buildings vibration attenuation under seismic excitation. A full order model of an adjacent buildings system with the location information of actuators and sensors is considered and by retaining the modes which make the largest contributions to the model with the Modal Cost Analysis (MCA), a reduced order model is established so that the controller can be designed conveniently. In view of the fact that not all the states of the system can be measured by the sensors, a dynamic output feedback H ∞ controller is designed for the adjacent buildings system. By considering that the output powers of …

A Real-time Linux based controller for micro-vibration generating with voice coil actuator

2014

The micro-vibrations generated by mechanical systems onboard spacecraft can affect the performance of instruments with high pointing accuracy and stability. This paper provides a micro-vibration generating control system based on Real Time Application Interface (RTAI), a real time Linux extension, for ground tests purposes. The vibration generating control algorithm is filtered-X adaptive inverse control method. A voice coil actuator is used in the vibration generating experiments. The experiments show that the system can generate different frequency precision sine vibration whose error is less than 2 mg which is in environmental and electrical noise level.

Optimal passive-damping design using a decentralized velocity-feedback H-infinity approach

2012

In this work, a new strategy to design passive energy dissipation systems for vibration control of large structures is presented. The method is based on the equivalence between passive damping systems and fully decentralized static velocity-feedback controllers. This equivalence allows to take advantage of recent developments in static output-feedback control design to formulate the passive-damping design as a single optimization problem with Linear Matrix Inequality constraints. To illustrate the application of the proposed methodology, a passive damping system is designed for the seismic protection of a five-story building with excellent results. Peer Reviewed

Parameters identification of the complex impedance model of the PEM fuel cell using Matlab/Simulink

2017

In this work, we present a new technical method for identifying the complex impedance model parameters of a Proton Exchange Membrane (pEM) Fuel Cell for on-board diagnosis in real time. The study of the PEM Fuel Cell modelling is important in order to understand the physical phenomena that occurring in this green renewable energy source. A diagnosis method is presented by analyzing the behavior of the complex impedance. For this, we present the identification method of the various complex impedance parameters; this identification is based on mathematical methods using the least squares method and the interpolation analysis method. The results are obtained using Matlab/Simulink tools and all…

Methodology for assessment of measuring uncertainties of articulated arm coordinates measuring machine

2014

International audience; The Articulated Arm Coordinate Measuring Machines (AACMM) have gradually evolved and are increasingly used in mechanic industry. At present, measurement uncertainties relating to the use of these devices are not yet well-quantified. The work carried out consists on determining the measurement uncertainties of a mechanical part by an Articulated Arm Coordinate Measuring Machine. The studies aiming to develop a model of measurement uncertainties are based on the Monte Carlo method developed in Supplement 1 of the Guide to Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement [1] but also identifying and characterizing the main sources of uncertainty. A Multi-level Monte Carlo appro…

Estimation algébrique des paramètres intrinsèques d'un signal sinusoïdal biaisé en environnement bruité

2011

The amplitude, frequency and phase of a biased and noisy sinusoidal signal are estimated via algebraic techniques. The methods which are popular today seem unable to obtain a robust estimation of those parameters within a fraction of the signal's period. The e ciency of our approach is illustrated by several computer simulations.

Localization from inertial data and sporadic position measurements

2020

International audience; A novel estimation strategy for inertial navigation in indoor/outdoor environments is proposed with a specific attention to the sporadic nature of the non-periodic measurements. After introducing the inertial navigation model, we introduce an observer providing an asymptotic estimate of the plant state. We use a hybrid dynamical systems representation for our results, in order to provide an effective, and elegant theoretical framework. The estimation error dynamics with the proposed observer shows a peculiar cascaded interconnection of three subsystems (allowing for intuitive gain tuning), with perturbations occurring either on the jump or on the flow dynamics (depen…
