A simplified predictive control of constrained Markov jump system with mixed uncertainties

2014

Published version of an article in the journal: Abstract and Applied Analysis. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2014/475808 Open Access A simplified model predictive control algorithm is designed for discrete-time Markov jump systems with mixed uncertainties. The mixed uncertainties include model polytope uncertainty and partly unknown transition probability. The simplified algorithm involves finite steps. Firstly, in the previous steps, a simplified mode-dependent predictive controller is presented to drive the state to the neighbor area around the origin. Then the trajectory of states is driven as expected to the origin by the final-step mode-independent pre…

Robust reliable control of uncertain discrete impulsive switched systems with state delays

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: Mathematical Problems in Engineering. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/197819 Open access This paper is concerned with the problem of robust reliable control for a class of uncertain discrete impulsive switched systems with state delays, where the actuators are subjected to failures. The parameter uncertainties are assumed to be norm-bounded, and the average dwell time approach is utilized for the stability analysis and controller design. Firstly, an exponential stability criterion is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Then, a state feedback controller is constructed for the underlyin…

State-Feedback Stabilization for a Class of Stochastic Feedforward Nonlinear Time-Delay Systems

2013

We investigate the state-feedback stabilization problem for a class of stochastic feedforward nonlinear time-delay systems. By using the homogeneous domination approach and choosing an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the delay-independent state-feedback controller is explicitly constructed such that the closed-loop system is globally asymptotically stable in probability. A simulation example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

Robust control of production-distribution systems

2007

A class of production-distribution problems with unknown-but-bounded uncertain demand is considered. At each time, the demand is unknown but each of its components is assumed to belong to an assigned interval. Furthermore, the system has production and transportation capacity constraints. We face the problem of finding a control strategy that keeps the storage levels bounded. We also deal with the case in which storage level bounds are assigned and the controller must keep the state within these bounds. Both discrete and continuous time models are considered. We provide basic necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of such strategies. We propose several possible feedback contr…

Optimal Guaranteed Cost Control of a Class of Discrete-Time Nonlinear Systems with Markovian Switching and Mode-Dependent Mixed Time Delays

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: Abstract and Applied Analysis. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/653628 Open Access The guaranteed cost control problem is investigated for a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems with Markovian jumping parameters and mixed time delays. The mixed time delays involved consist of both the mode-dependent discrete delay and the distributed delay with mode-dependent lower bound. The associated cost function is of a quadratic summation form over the infinite horizon. The nonlinear functions are assumed to satisfy sector-bounded conditions. By introducing new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and developing some ne…

On the stability analysis for impulsive switching system with time-varying delay

2014

This paper focuses on the stability and stabilization problem for a neutral impulsive switching system with time-varying delay. Based on LMI method and optimization technologies, some stability criteria are derived for this kind of system. Some example and numerical simulation are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results. Refereed/Peer-reviewed

Optimal Starting Conditions for the Rendezvous Maneuver, Part 2: Mathematical Programming Approach

2008

In a companion paper (Part 1, J. Optim. Theory Appl. 137(3), [2008]), we determined the optimal starting conditions for the rendezvous maneuver using an optimal control approach. In this paper, we study the same problem with a mathematical programming approach.

Necessary Optimality Conditions in Multiobjective Dynamic Optimization

2004

We consider a nonsmooth multiobjective optimal control problem related to a general preference. Both differential inclusion and endpoint constraints are involved. Necessary conditions and Hamiltonian necessary conditions expressed in terms of the limiting Frechet subdifferential are developed. Examples of useful preferences are given.

Robust control for autonomous spacecraft evacuation with model uncertainty and upper bound of performance with constraints

2014

Published version of an article in the journal: Mathematical Problems in Engineering. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2014/589381 This paper studies the problem of guaranteed cost control for spacecraft evacuation. The relative dynamic model is established based on Clohessy-Wiltshire (C-W) equations. The paper has taken parameter uncertainty, output tracking, disturbance attenuation, and fuel cost into consideration. The paper introduces a new Lyapunov approach, so the controller design problem can be transferred into a convex optimization problem subject to linear matrix inequality (LMI) constraints. By using the controller, the spacecraft evacuation can be …

TCSC allocation based on line flow based equations via mixed-integer programming

2007

Summary form only given. Research effort has been given to locate the optimal locations of thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC) and their initial compensation levels using mixed-integer programming (MIP). As a useful technique for combinatorial optimisation over integer and continuous variables, the MIP approach can provide robust performance as well as high computational efficiency while solving complex optimal problems. Previous work using MIP employed DC load flow model ignoring reactive power balance, power loss and transformer tap ratios. In this paper, a new planning method is developed based on recently reported line flow equations and basic linearisation of binary-continuous…
