This paper examines the academic performance depending on the evaluation and rating system used in the university. The sample under study consists of 30 subjects -taught by 35 professors to 2192 students from 7 different degrees at 14 universities of all Spain-. The results confirm that continuous assessment is the one that best results not only in terms of rate of return and success rate but also in terms of grades. Abstract The interactions between plants, herbicides and herbivore insects were studied as an aspect of possible side effect of the using of phosphonate herbicides. The experimental system was composed of phosphonate herbicides, broad bean Vicia faba (L.) plants and black bean aphid Aphis fabae (Scopoli). Two means of herbicide application, namely standard spraying and direct introduction of the herbicide into stem via glass capillary, were examined. The results obtained for N-2-piridylaminomethylene bisphosphonic acid and its derivatives show 10 times higher inhibition of the plant growth if glass capillary mode was used. Large-scale genotyping identifies 41 new loci associated with breast cancer risk

Journal article Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. Common variants at 27 loci have been identified as associated with susceptibility to breast cancer, and these account for ~9% of the familial risk of the disease. We report here a meta-analysis of 9 genome-wide association studies, including 10,052 breast cancer cases and 12,575 controls of European ancestry, from which we selected 29,807 SNPs for further genotyping. Scripts for Quality Control of SISAL workbooks

Files needed for Quality Control checks of the SISALworkbook_v12 (Comas-Bru and Harrison, 2019). This includes a Python script (wb_check_v12_compatible.py) for automatic checks and an R script (plot_agemodels_hiatus_v12) for manual checks. Instructions on how to run these scripts are provided in a README_instructions.txt file. In questa memoria si presenta una sintesi delle attività condotte nell'ambito del progetto SERPICO ("Sviluppo E Realizzazione di Prototipi di Inverter per impianti fotovoltaici a Concentrazione", PO-FESR Sicilia 2007-2013, Misura 4.1.1.2). Il progetto ha riguardato lo sviluppo di un prototipo di impianto fotovoltaico-termico a concentrazione e del relativo sistema di monitoraggio e controllo. Tale sistema permette di acquisire le quantità sia elettriche che termiche. Inoltre esso implementa un algoritmo per l'inseguimento solare utilizzato per ottimizzare la produzione di potenza.
