Motion generation systems are becoming increasingly important in certain Virtual Reality (VR) applications, such as vehicle simulators. This paper deals with the analysis of the Inverse Kinematics (IK) and the reachable workspace of a three-degrees-of-freedom (3-DOF) parallel manipulator, proposing different transformations and optimizations in order to simplify its use with Motion Cueing Algorithms (MCA) for self-motion generation in VR simulators. Preliminary design process for an adaptive winglet

In the framework of Clean Sky 2 Airgreen 2 GRA ITD project, this paper deals with the design process of a morphing winglet for a regional aircraft. By improving A/C aerodynamic efficiency in off-design flight conditions, the morphing winglet is expected to operate during long (cruise) and short (climb and descent) mission phases to reduce aircraft drag and optimize lift distribution, while providing augmented roll and yaw control capability. The effects of perceived control (PC) at the start of polar winter on the dynamics of the PAP dimensions were also examined. The current paper aims at optimizing the natural gas deliveries from an underground storage by implementing automated control systems and fiscal measurement systems according to the harmonized European legislation in the area of metrology. Implementation of an occupational stress Control Model

Occupational stress is an enemy of society, a problem that requires a deep research to control stress more effectively. The case study presented in this article consists of a model control regarding occupational stress. The experimental part of this study involved interviews with 15 employees, 9 females and 6 males aged between 25-55 years. Participants described stressful situations at work. Time allocated for each subject was 45 minutes per interviews. The model was implemented based on the job content stressors, effects of stress (physiological, psychological, behavioural) and interviews results. Partial Stabilization of Input-Output Contact Systems on a Legendre Submanifold

This technical note addresses the structure preserving stabilization by output feedback of conservative input-output contact systems, a class of input-output Hamiltonian systems defined on contact manifolds. In the first instance, achievable contact forms in closed-loop and the associated Legendre submanifolds are analysed. In the second instance the stability properties of a hyperbolic equilibrium point of a strict contact vector field are analysed and it is shown that the stable and unstable manifolds are Legendre submanifolds. Adaptive backstepping control of uncertain systems in the presence of unmodeled dynamics and time-varying delays

In this paper, the problem of adaptive backstepping control for uncertain systems in the presence of unmodeled dynamics and input time-varying delays is studied. Under some mild assumptions, a robust adaptive controller is designed such that the system is globally stabilized by using adaptive backstepping technique. Meanwhile, the transient system performance in L2 and norms of system output can be adjusted by choosing the design parameters. Finally, a simulation example is given to show the effectiveness of the results.

Using Two-Level Context-Based Predictors for Assembly Assistance in Smart Factories

The paper presents some preliminary results in engineering a context-aware assistive system for manual assembly tasks. It employs context-based predictors to suggest the next steps during the manufacturing process and is based on data collected from experiments with trainees in assembling a tablet. We were interested in finding correlations between the characteristics of the workers and the way they prefer to assemble the tablet. A certain predictor is then trained with correct assembly styles extracted from the collected data and assessed against the whole dataset. Thus, we found the predictor that best matches the assembly preferences.
