Due sculture lignee del Settecento tra Napoli e Palermo: l’Immacolata Concezione di Piazza Armerina e il San Michele Arcangelo di Cerami

Oggetto del contributo sono l'Immacolata Concezione e il San Michele Arcangelo custoditi rispettivamente nella Cattedrale di Piazza Armerina e nella Chiesa Madre di Cerami, centri dell'entroterra siciliano. La prima opera è ricondotta per la prima volta ad ignoto scultore napoletano del primo quarto del Settecento, la seconda, invece, è attribuita a Filippo Quattrocchi. Dopo una premessa sui committenti, si indagano i più rappresentativi simulacri lignei del XVIII secolo della Sicilia occidentale. Le statue sono state eseguite, secondo la pertinente temperie culturale, da scultori locali, talvolta ignari dei tratti innovativi del tempo, che hanno reiterato stilemi dei secoli precedenti. Tra gli artisti con bottega a Palermo, aggiornati alle più moderne istanze, si annoverano Barcellona, Quattrocchi e Valenza. Altri manufatti, perlopiù ubicati nelle chiese degli ordini religiosi, sono stati approntati da autori napoletani su esplicita richiesta di attenti committenti. Šis darbs iepazīstina ar laikraksta The Guardian tiešsiastes publikāciju analīzi. Šī darba mērķis ir izanalizēt pastāvīgo vārdu (lietvārdu, darbības vārdu un īpašības vārdu) biežumu laikrakstu publikācijas un to diskusiju ziņās. Galvenā pētījuma metode bija korpusa-lingvistiskā metode, kas balstīta uz Makenerija (2006) teoriju. Šī darba autors izveidoja mini-korpusu, kas sastāvēja no divām teksta grupām: laikrakstu publikācijām un diskusiju ziņām. The present paper analyses and validates a path model of the relation between male and female work satisfaction (dependent variable) and various psychological and economic variables (like wages, work certainty, work stress, core self-valuations and personal happies approach: hedonia or eudaemonia). The data analyzed comes from two author's projects, evaluating the sources of worker happiness: N = 1021 (Walczak, 2014) and N = 1105 (2015). The results indicate an partial mediation relation of gender on the perceived job satisfaction.

A neutron diffraction (ND) and neutron tomography (NT) study of laminated ancient bronzes was performed at the ISIS (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK) neutron source and at the BENSC reactor (Hahn-Meitner Institut, Germany). The samples are part of an 8th century BC Etruscan collection discovered in the necropolises of Osteria-Poggio Mengarelli and Cavalupo in the Vulci area (Viterbo, Italy). The study allowed us to derive-in a totally non-destructive manner-information related to the main composition of the objects, possible presence of alterations and their nature, crusts and inclusions, as well as structure of the bulk. Compression and load balancing for efficient sparse matrix-vector product on multicore processors and graphics processing units

We contribute to the optimization of the sparse matrix-vector product by introducing a variant of the coordinate sparse matrix format that balances the workload distribution and compresses both the indexing arrays and the numerical information. Our approach is multi-platform, in the sense that the realizations for (general-purpose) multicore processors as well as graphics accelerators (GPUs) are built upon common principles, but differ in the implementation details, which are adapted to avoid thread divergence in the GPU case or maximize compression element-wise (i.e., for each matrix entry) for multicore architectures. Tekst prezentuje również analizę wybranych nagrań dotyczących problematyki koronawirusa, które pojawiły się i zyskały zainteresowanie użytkowników w czasie pandemii. Intencją prowadzonych badań było sprawdzenie, w jaki sposób członkowie TikToka reagują na zagrożenie zdrowia i życia związane z chorobą COVID-19 oraz jak odnajdują się w nowej sytuacji społecznej, która wytworzyła się w obliczu trwającego stanu epidemicznego. Pore and mineral structure of rock using nano-tomographic imaging

ABSTRACTIn order to better understand the micrometer-scale structure of rock and its transport properties which arise from it, seven monomineral samples from two sites (Olkiluoto and Sievi, Finland) were studied with micro- and nanotomography and scanning electron microscopy. From the veined gneiss of Olkiluoto we studied biotite, potassium feldspar, plagioclase (composition of oligoclase) and cordierite, and from Sievi tonalite biotite and two grains of plagioclase (albite). These minerals were the main minerals of these samples.
