PENDEKATAN ANALISIS REGRESI INDIVIDUAL UNTUK DATA LONGITUDINAL

2008

Classical Regression analysis are usually used in analysing longitude data or repeated measurement data (where response from each individual were measured in a period of time). Assumption of the analysis is no correlation among a couple measurement at same object. Whereas the repeated measurement data in same object research usually have correlation. Neglecting of correlation in regresion analysis will result in an uncertain conclusion.Regression individually analysis for longitudinal data attention the influence of individual effect and its interaction with time. So that with the reason, withdrawal of conclusion will be more be trusted its truth. The research objective i…

Application of alternating projection method to ensure feasibility of shadowing cross-correlation models

2007

A novel procedure based on the alternating projection method to adjust experimental shadowing cross-correlation (SCC) matrices is proposed. Given an SCC matrix derived from any experimental model, this procedure finds the nearest diagonalisable correlation matrix. This adjustment allows a proper simulation of shadowing samples, since it produces correlation matrices for which Cholesky factorisation is feasible. Simulation results using this procedure for three different SCC models are compared and discussed.

Modelling of Adequate Costs of Utilities Services

2016

The paper propose methodology for benchmark modelling of adequate costs of utilities services, which is based on the data analysis of the factual cases (key performance indicators of utilities as the predictors). The proposed methodology was tested by modelling of Latvian water utilities with three tools: (1) a classical version of the multi-layer perceptron with error back-propagation training algorithm was sharpened up with task-specific monotony tests, (2) the fitting of the generalized additive model using the programming language R ensured the opportunity to evaluate the statistical significance and confidence bands of predictors, (3) the sequential iterative nonlinear regression proce…

Optical nonlinear correlation based on nonuniform subband decomposition

1999

We present a nonlinear correlation to improve the selectivity for optical pattern recognition. The approach is based on morphological correlation which involves a threshold decomposition concept. Hereby, we propose a subband decomposition in the Fourier domain to perform the threshold decomposition operation. We consider two frequency bands that give rise to two separate channels. We apply the morphological correlation to each channel using a localized threshold decomposition. Then, we define a two-channel morphological correlation. The final detection decision is made as a combination of both correlation outputs. The two-channel morphological correlation yields improved discrimination capa…

Kognitive Prozesse und dynamische Zeitstrukturen. Vorstellung eines Meßgerätes zur Untersuchung der Mikro-Vigilanz-Shift-(MVS-)Hypothese. Cognitive P…

2003

The psychophysiological measuring method for the determination of the auditory order threshold (OT) is steadily gaining in importance, both for the diagnosis and treatment of speech disorders. Observed intraindividual variability of (macro-) vigilance led to the hypothesis of discontinuous cognitive processing in the central nervous system. The base for the variability of microvigilance is hypothesized to be in the phase difference of the alpha rhythm. To test for this hypothesis, we developed an EEG-comparator, which allows for a phase-dependent triggering of external stimuli. In direct comparison with stochastic (i.e. non-phase-dependent) stimulus presentation, the threshold in phase-depe…

Correlation and Truth

2013

The concept of correlation is the building block of almost any Bayesian attempt to capture or explicate any interesting aspect of scientific reasoning in terms of probabilities. This paper discusses one particularly simple correlation measure which is highly significant for almost any such attempt within the philosophy of science or epistemology. In particular, it shows how this correlation measure is related to central attempts to capture essential aspects of scientific reasoning such as confirmation, coherence, and the explanatory power of hypotheses. This intimate connection between correlation and scientific reasoning necessitates answering the question of how correlation and truth are …

Time-Dependent Correlation and Response Functions

2014

The dynamics of liquids is discussed with the help of time-dependent correlation functions. They are related to response functions by the fluctuation-dissipation theorem. This theorem enables to relate experimentally measured inelastic scattering data to the Fourier-transformed correlation and response functions. The Laplace transform of the correlation functions can be represented as a continuous fraction with suitable residual terms (memory functions). The projection formalism of Mori and Zwanzig is introduced.

Scaled factorial moments and split-bin correlation functions. A thermodynamic model comparison

1991

Abstract We compare the scaled factorial moments to the recently proposed split-bin correlation functions, using the thermodynamic model for heavy ion collisions that was recently demonstrated to exhibit power-law growth of the scaled factorial moments as a function of bin size. We find that the split-bin correlation functions are superior for experimental use, as they are intensitive to fictitious correlations due to limited resolving power. In addition, after correction for non-flat single-particle distributions, the split-bin correlation functions provide an unambiguous signal for correlations. As a result, they may provide more powerful evidence for new phenomena like fractal structure …
