We present the results of an extended computational study of the electric and magnetic properties connected to Cotton-Mouton birefringences, on the trifluoro- and trichloroborides in the gas phase. The electric dipole polarizabilities, magnetizabilities, quadrupole moments, and higher-order hypersusceptibilities—expressed as quadratic and cubic frequency-dependent response functions—are computed within Hartree-Fock, density-functional, and coupled-cluster response theories employing singly and doubly augmented correlation-consistent basis sets and London orbitals in the magnetic property calculations. International audience; We investigated the implication of Takeda G protein-coupled receptor 5 (TGR5) in fat preference and fat sensing in taste bud cells (TBC) in C57BL/6 wild-type (WT) and TGR5 knock out (TGR5-/-) male mice maintained for 20 weeks on a high-fat diet (HFD). We also assessed the implication of TGR5 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in young obese humans. The high-fat diet (HFD)-fed TGR5-/- mice were more obese, marked with higher liver weight, lipidemia and steatosis than WT obese mice. Cigarette smoking within minutes induces leukocyte adhesion to the vascular wall and formation of intravascular leukocyte-platelet aggregates. We find this is inhibited by platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor antagonists, and correlates with the accumulation of PAF-like mediators in the blood of cigarette smoke-exposed hamsters. These mediators were PAF-like lipids, formed by nonenzymatic oxidative modification of existing phospholipids, that were distinct from biosynthetic PAF. These PAF-like lipids induced isolated human monocytes and platelets to aggregate, which greatly increased their secretion of IL-8 and macrophage inflammatory protein-1alpha. A comparison of excited state properties for iterative approximate triples linear response coupled cluster methods

Abstract A computational study of the potential energy curves of the 1 Π state of BH, 1 Π state of CH + , 1 Σ u and 1 Π u states of C 2 , 1 Π state of CO, and 1 Π g and 1 Σ − u states of N 2 is carried out with the CC3 and CCSDT-3 corrections to EOMEE-CCSD. Good agreement in structure, vibrational frequencies, and excitation energies of these iterative triples-corrected methods with respect to experiment is found for most of these examples. However, deficiencies in the approximate treatment of triples is evident for BH and CH + .

The accuracy of geometries and harmonic vibrational frequencies is evaluated for two equation-of-motion ionization potential coupled-cluster methods including CC3 and CCSDT-3 triples corrections. The first two Sigma states and first Pi state of the N2 +, CO+, CN, and BO diatomic radicals are studied. The calculations show a tendency for the CC3 variant to overestimate the bond lengths and to underestimate the vibrational frequencies, while the CCSDT-3 variant seems to be more reliable. It is also demonstrated that the accuracy of such methods is comparable to sophisticated traditional multireference approaches and the full configuration interaction method.

We report a general implementation of alternative formulations of single-reference coupled cluster theory (extended, unitary, and variational) with arbitrary-order truncation of the cluster operator. These methods are applied to compute the energy of Ne and the equilibrium properties of HF and C(2). Potential energy curves for the dissociation of HF and the BeH(2) model computed with the extended, variational, and unitary coupled cluster approaches are compared to those obtained from the multireference coupled cluster approach of Mukherjee et al. Relativistic coupled cluster calculations of the electronic structure of KrH+, XeH+ and RnH+

Potential energy curves of NgH+ cations (Ng = Kr, Xe, Rn) were obtained by using four-component relativistic CCSD(T) coupled cluster calculations. Dissociation energies, equilibrium bond lengths, electronic properties, such as dipole moments and electric field gradients at the nuclei, and the related spectroscopic parameters of the electronic ground state have been determined. The results obtained for KrH+ and XeH+ are in good agreement with available experimental data, while those for RnH+ have been determined for the first time at this level of theory.

AbstractIn this report we show, by confocal analysis of indirect immunofluorescence, that the type-1 cannabinoid receptor (CB1R), which belongs to the family of G-protein-coupled receptors, is expressed on the plasma membrane in human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells. However, a substantial proportion of the receptor is present in lysosomes. We found that CB1R is associated with cholesterol- and sphyngolipid-enriched membrane domains (rafts). Cholesterol depletion by methyl-β-cyclodextrin (MCD) treatment strongly reduces the flotation of the protein on the raft-fractions (DRM) of sucrose density gradients suggesting that CB1 raft-association is cholesterol dependent.
