Evidence on the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine shows that it is effective in reducing the burden of HPV-related diseases. For more than 15 years the HPV vaccine has been offered free of charge in Italy to girls from the age of 12. Over time, the free offer of the HPV vaccine has also been extended to boys and to young adults at risk of developing HPV lesions. A retrospective clinical study has been conducted to evaluate real life clinical practice of HV vaccination in the fourth most populous Italian Region. We study by Monte Carlo computer simulations random sequential adsorption (RSA) with diffusional relaxation, of lattice hard squares in two dimensions. While for RSA without diffusion the coverage approaches its maximum jamming value (large-time fractional coverage) exponentially, added diffusion allows the deposition process to proceed to the full coverage. The approach to the full coverage is consistent with the t**(-1/2) power law reminiscent of the equilibrium cluster coarsening in models with nonconserved order-parameter dynamics.

This paper analyses the synergies between press and politics in the debate on the regulation of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) in Spain between 1979 and 2018. We argue that longitudinal analysis and comparison of this interaction and synergy reveal how the mainstream discourse has shifted. We use a dataset of news ( N = 2,059), a news sample ( n = 325) and a dataset of parliamentary records ( N = 86). Today's news — tomorrow's context: A dynamic model of news processing

We are proposing a feedback model of news processing, assuming that news reception is guided by media input as well as by existing cognitive structures. However, these structures are in turn shaped by former media coverage. In our study we examine viewers’ processing of TV news, comparing objective news content (content analysis) to subjective meaning of news stories (viewer interviews). Results show that viewers interpret information about new events in the context of past events, themselves mainly a reflection of former media coverage.
