Abstract PERVAL (PERceived VALue) scale has been frequently replicated and adapted in tourism to measure consumer value; however, EVS (Experiential Value Scale) better reflects the experiential nature of tourism consumption. Focusing on a famous cultural heritage site in France (Chambord castle), this research compares PERVAL and EVS by replicating them as concisely as possible. Abstract In this paper, the potentialities of pumice-based geopolymers have been explored with the aim to evaluate their use as restoration materials. In particular, the behaviour of Aeolian pumice during alkali activation process, either alone or in binary mixtures with metakaolin, has been assessed using sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate activators. Agarose gel (agargel) composites with commercial and laboratory made silver nanoparticles were prepared by a wet solution method at room temperature. The gel composites were used for pigment extraction and detection by Raman spectroscopy. Red (alizarin) and violet (crystal violet) pigments deposited on paper were extracted by the composites and were investigated by micro-Raman spectroscopy. The use of polymers for conservation of cultural heritage is related to the possibility to slow down or stop natural deterioration which, in many cases, corresponds to stopping the entrance of liquid water and to favour spontaneous water vapour removal.
