Maturation of barley cysteine endopeptidase expressed in Trichoderma reesei is distorted by incomplete processing

Maturation of barley cysteine endopeptidase B (EPB) in Trichoderma reesei was studied with metabolic inhibitors, Western blotting, and immuno microscopy. The inactive 42-kDa recombinant EPB proprotein, first detected in apical cells, was sequentially processed in a time-dependent manner to a secreted polypeptide of 38.5 kDa, and thereafter, to polypeptides of 37.5, 35.5, and 32 kDa exhibiting enzyme activity both in the hyphae and culture medium. The sizes of the different forms of recombinant EPB were in accordance with molecular masses calculated from the deduced amino acid sequence, assuming cleavage at four putative Kex2p sites present in the 42-kDa proprotein. Abstract The volume ultrasound technology software known as the HDlive technique represents an innovative tool, a step towards an even more realistic anatomical visualization of pelvic organ structures. HDlive can help improve physician–patient communication with the aid of life-like images and might prove useful in the field of assisted reproduction treatment. The clinical application of this novel ultrasound technology in assisted reproduction treatment deserves scientific evaluation.

Bei 245 Fallen mit Blutungen nach mindestens 3jahriger Menopause handelt es sich in 95% um eine uterine Blutung. Davon war in 43,75% ein maligner Tumor die Ursache. In 9,6% war das histologische Substrat eine glandular-cystische Schleimhaut, deren histologisches Bild nicht gegen das des diffusen Korpusadenoms abzugrenzen ist. Es wird daher diskutiert, ob diese Bilder immer die Folge eines Follikelhormonuberschusses seien, ob es sich nicht vielmehr in der spaten Menopause in einem Teil der Falle um einen gutartigen autonomen Tumor handelt. Bei der Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis handelt es sich um Gascysten von Stecknadelkopf- bis Kirschgrose, die sich in der Wand des Dunndarms, des Coecums und im linksseitigen Dickdarm finden. Aber auch ein Befall des gesamten Colons ist beschrieben worden. Die Erkrankung kann in jeder Altersstufe auftreten. Histologisch lassen sich bei Serienschnitten kommunizierende Systeme von Gascysten nachweisen, die bei Jugendlichen submucos und im hoheren Alter subseros liegen. Die Zusammensetzung des Gases entspricht der der Atemluft.
