Graphic Medicine as a Didactic Tool for Training Medical Translators: a comparative analysis in French and Spanish

The use of comics to communicate health-related topics has aroused growing interest in their translation from English, as well as from other languagessuch as French. Acknowledging the twofold challenge posed by a medium and a language combination that have seldom been explored in medical translation training, we will compare and contrast the Spanish translation of the French comic L’incroyable histoire de la médecine to make a didactic contribution to the training of medical translators. We will study the iconographic and textual codes present in the comic before presenting a proposal for its use in educational settings.

La confección de una cartografía efectiva de riesgo de inundación precisa de la elaboración previa de mapas de peligro, que recojan las zonas sometidas a los procesos naturales asociados a la crecida. Para la configuración de estos mapas resulta muy útil el estudio de las áreas afectadas en sucesos concretos. As part of research aimed at establishing the profiles of students of new entry at ISFODOSU, we include vocational variables to determine the most important motivations for the choice of career of the participants, as well as for the election of this university and opinion on its technological resources. The sample (No. 744) was chosen at random, proportionally among the Enclosures, Careers and Sex strata. First, we validate the FIT-Choice scale with two confirmatory factorial analyses. The 12 motivational factors showed a good level of fit (RMSEA .062; CFI .92 and TLI .901, as well as the 6 perceptual factors (RMSEA .062; CFI .944 and TLI .924).
