Bayesian two-stage regression with parametric heteroscedasticity

In this paper, we expand Kleibergen and Zivot's (2003) Bayesian two-stage (B2S) model by allowing for unequal variances. Our choice for modeling heteroscedasticity is a fully Bayesian parametric approach. As an application, we present a cross-country Cobb–Douglas production function estimation.

Changes of 1-Aminocyclopropane-1-Carboxylic Acid Oxidase Activity in Stressed Pinus Sylvestris Needles

Stimulation of ethylene biosynthesis in pine needles by hydrogen peroxide and sodium bisulfite coincided with the activation of ACC oxidase at the level of protein synthesis. Decrease in ethylene production at high concentrations of sodium bisulfite (above 7 mM) was apparently due to inhibition of ACC oxidase activity. Treatment of pine needles with aminotriazole caused an inhibition of both ethylene production and ACC oxidase activity. Both methylviologen and methyl jasmonate stimulated ACC oxidase activity in a concentration-dependent manner with no parallel changes in ethylene production. Summary The main objective of the present study was to test the hypothesis that increased concentrations of ethylene under conditions of limited gas exchange during in vitro cultivation of potato ( Solanum tuberosum L.) stem explants may lead to increased capaciry of antioxidative defense. By varying the tightness of closure and application of inhibitors of ethylene biosynthesis it was possible to accumulate various concentrations of ethylene in the internal atmosphere of culture flasks, which depended on excision-stress induced ethylene biosynthesis. Darba ietvaros tiks apskatīta informācija par kadastrālo vērtību palielinājuma un nekustamo īpašuma nodokļu reformas administratīvo, sociālo un fiskālo ietekmi. Esempi di questa tipologia di ex voto, ampiamente in uso fino a tutto il xix secolo, e oggi in minor misura, nel Meridione d’Italia e in altre regioni del Sud Europa, sono infatti già attestati nel mondo classico (pinakes, tabellea pictae). Nel passaggio tra mondo «pagano» e mondo «cristiano», nel mutare dei referenti divini e delle teologie, si osserva una continuità dei simboli rituali e delle pratiche votive e, più in generale, una significativa persistenza delle forme, delle funzioni e dei significati cultuali delle immagini in ambito religioso. <p class="Pa8">Este artículo es fruto de un trabajo de campo etnográfico realizado en distintos centros de protección de mujeres de la Comunidad Valenciana. Su objetivo es desvelar los tipos de violencia que subyacen en las historias de vida de las mujeres institucionalizadas. Tanto la estrategia general como las principales técnicas de investigación utilizadas han sido de índole cualitativa. Así, se ha realizado observación participante, y a través de informes sociales, documentos personales y entrevistas informales y en profundidad se han elaborado 15 historias de vida. Numerous studies have been devoted in the last years to the development of mass spectrometric methods for the sequence determination of peptides [ 1,2]. Most advanced among this work has been so far the rigorous chemical derivatization of oligopeptides to achieve sufficient volatility for the application of conventional (electron impact, EI) mass spectrometry [2-41. For example, the analysis by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) of mixtures of oligopeptide fragments derivatized after chemical or enzymatic hydrolysis of polypeptides has been successfully used for sequence determinations [2,5].
