Digital Architectures Generated Using Forces in Urban Environment

A paper, a description of a software application is given, which allows to generate tridimensional models of buildings, directly inside a geo referential context, following a parametric approach, in which the volume of the building is put in direct relation with forces/law bonds emerging from the urban context. The user is, therefore, able to interactively operate within a project process, in which by changing the parameters values and by verifying in real time, the results of the changes, he/she is able to evaluate all possible infinite scenarios. The system,thought for Trento’s (Italy) urban context, may also be applied on other cities.

This paper discusses and evaluates the application of a social psychologically enriched, user-centered approach to agent architecture design. The major aim is to facilitate human–agent interaction (HAI) by making agents not only algorithmically more intelligent but also socially more skillful in communicating with the user. A decision-making model and communicative argumentation strategies have been incorporated into the agent architecture. In the presented content resource management experiments, enhancement of human task performance is demonstrated for users that are supported by a persuasive agent. The aim was to describe longitudinal trends in peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) among 14- to 19-year-old adolescents in Norway, and to examine effects of sex, body mass index (BMI), and physical activity (PA) level on VO2peak during adolescence. Of 124 invited students from two lower secondary schools in Norway, 116 eighth-grade students (61 boys and 55 girls; 14 years old at baseline) volunteered to participate. A fuzzy parameter to characterize the uncertainty in the plant layout design

The present work aims at proposing a methodology able to return a single parameter that synthesizes the aspects characterizing the layout design problem that the analyst translates into requests of closeness and distance among departments. In order to consider the uncertainty of the problem, closeness and distance requests are expressed by means of fuzzy numbers and a weight fuzzy function modules the importance of the aspects by allowing the analyst to express his/her priorities on the basis of the specific decisional context. Presentamos en este trabajo nuestra experiencia acumulada en el tratamiento quirúrgico del neumotórax espontáneo primario mediante cirugía videotoracoscópica. Se ha elegido el neumotórax por tratarse de la patología benigna que, además de frecuente, ha sido la primera en beneficiarse de la VATS. Durante un periodo de dieciséis años (entre junio de 1994 y febrero de 2010) se realizaron 238 intervenciones por neumotórax espontáneo primario mediante VATS en 216 pacientes; en 115 procedimientos se escogió la abrasión pleural como método de pleurodesis, mientras que en 123 casos se llevó a cabo una técnica mixta consistente en pleurectomía apical combinada con abrasión del resto de la pleura par…
