The effect of β‐methylation on the conformation of α, β‐dehydrophenylalanine: a DFT study
2009
Dehydroamino acids are non‐coded amino acids that offer unique conformational properties. Dehydrophenylalanine (ΔPhe) is most commonly used to modify bioactive peptides to constrain the topography of the phenyl ring in the side chain, which commonly serves as a pharmacophore. The Ramachandran maps (in the gas phase and in CHCl3 mimicking environments) of ΔPhe analogues with methyl groups at the β position of the side chain as well as at the C‐terminal amide were calculated using the B3LYP/6‐31 + G** method. Unexpectedly, β‐methylation alone results in an increase of conformational freedom of the affected ΔPhe residue. However, further modification by introducing an additional methyl group a…
Inductive inference of recursive functions: complexity bounds
1991
This survey includes principal results on complexity of inductive inference for recursively enumerable classes of total recursive functions. Inductive inference is a process to find an algorithm from sample computations. In the case when the given class of functions is recursively enumerable it is easy to define a natural complexity measure for the inductive inference, namely, the worst-case mindchange number for the first n functions in the given class. Surely, the complexity depends not only on the class, but also on the numbering, i.e. which function is the first, which one is the second, etc. It turns out that, if the result of inference is Goedel number, then complexity of inference ma…

ViziQuer rīka realizācija tīmekļa vidē
2016
Darbs sastāv no sekojošām nodaļām: programmatūras prasību specifikācija, programmatūras projektējuma apraksts, projekta organizācija, kvalitātes nodrošināšana, konfigurāciju pārvaldība, testēšanas dokumentācija un darbietilpības novērtējums. Pielikumā ir pievienots izstrādātas programmatūras kods.
Peripheral Nerve Responses to Muscle Stretching: A Systematic Review
2021
Stretching is commonly used to increase range of motion and flexibility. Therefore, investigations are usually oriented towards the muscle-tendon unit. Limited evidence exists regarding potential effects of stretching on peripheral nerves which lie within muscles. The objective of this investigation will be to elucidate the responses of peripheral nerves to stretching. A literature search was performed using the following databases: Scopus, NLM Pubmed and ScienceDirect. Studies regarding the effects of stretching protocols on responses of peripheral nerves were retrieved for investigation. The NHLBI tool was used for quality assessment. Outcomes included nerve stiffness, nerve displacement,…
Guida subacquea per apneisti non vedenti
2012
Modular and removable structure, variable in height, to be fixed/anchored to the bottom of the swimming pool/tank through sliding tracks suitable for the two cables located at both sides of the swimming-pool along the same modules. On the one hand, the diving guide was designed to allow blind divers to move inside the pool autonomously and safely, without the help of instructors even when more than one diver is present in the pool/lane. On the other hand, the diving guide can be stretched to reach various lengths when needed.
