Electron ionization mass spectrometry and low-energy collision-induced decomposition reactions occurring in a tridimensional ion trap, together with density functional theory (DFT) calculations on neutrals, even- and odd-electron cations, have been used to study the gas-phase ion chemistry of a series of perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-triazines. Weight-loss programs are often based on self-control techniques and they commonly fail in long-term weight management. Identifying psychological processes that explain eating behaviors can help to develop more effective interventions for long-term weight management. This research examined how behavioral and psychological flexibility are related to eating regulation and weight management in overweight adults. The first goal was to study the effects of flexible vs. rigid restraint of eating on weight-loss maintenance and well-being. Abstract The aim of this study is to prove technical feasibility of combined refuse derived fuel (RDF) torrefaction and oily wastewater treatment approach by using RDF derived biochar as a sorption media. Biochars prepared from refuse derived fuels in torrefaction, carbonization and pyrolysis modes were analysed as fuels and as hydrocarbon sorbents. Changes of elemental composition and properties of material during thermal treatment and subsequent washing process have been analysed. Badania eksperymentalne i teoretyczne koordynacyjnej polimeryzacji etylenu przeprowadzono wobec katalizatorów otrzymanych z prekursorów - kompleksów halogenków Ti, Zr, Hf, V z organicznymi zasadami Lewisa, nośnika magnezowego [MgCl2(THF)2] i związków glinoorganicznych. Określono zależnosć pomiędzy rodzajem halogenków w prekursorze a aktywnością katalizatora wanadowego. Ustalono profile energetyczne reakcji insercji i terminacji (beta-eliminacji) oraz przeniesienia atomu wodoru beta. Water dissociation and water-gas shift energetics on MgO, MgO/Ag and Au/MgO/Ag surfaces

Water dissociation and the energetics of the WGS reaction on a bulk MgO, an Ag supported MgO thin film and Au/MgO/Ag surfaces is studied based on the density functional theory. The literature results for water splitting on MgO and MgO/Ag surfaces with a step type defect are repeated and further analysis on the origin of the energetically favored dissociative water adsorption are made. The reactivity towards water dissociation on the stepped MgO and MgO/Ag surfaces is attributed to four contributing factors: 1. UNEDF-parametrisaatioiden ennustamien sidosenergioiden tilastolliset virheet

Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tavoitteena oli tutkia UNEDF0, UNEDF1 ja UNEDF2-parametrisaatioiden ennustamia sidosenergioita ja näiden tilastollisia virheitä eri ytimille HFBTHO-tietokone-ohjelmaa käyttäen. Tilastollisena virheenä käytin keskihajontaa. Tarkasteltavana olivat parillis-parilliset Gd-ytimet (A=130−180), parillis-parilliset Dy-ytimet (A=140−182) sekä UNEDF1- ja UNEDF2-parametrisaatioissa parametrien sovitukseen käytetyt ytimien U-226, U-238, Pu-240 ja Cm-242 fissioisomeerit. Vertasin laskennallisia sidosenergioita ja näiden virheitä niin toisiinsa kuin kokeellisesti määritettyihin arvoihin.
