The aim of the study was to investigate intercultural adaptation of occupational immigrants to Finnish working life and culture and identify factors that support or hinder the adaptation process. Due to demographic changes in the society and the increasing number of foreigners in Finnish workplaces, the study of occupational immigration is a very contemporary topic. The study was qualitative in nature. 13 Chinese metal workers were interviewed in small groups using a translator in Mandarin Chinese. This study examined, first, basic human values’ and life goals’ factor structures and the reciprocal links between these measures; second, the connections between personality traits and values, and possible gender differences in these relations; and third, the relations between life goals and mental well-being, and whether life goals act as mediators in the associations between personality traits and mental well-being. The unique nature of optical properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT), together with their promising potential applications, have created enormous interest towards the photophysics of SWCNT. Many aspects of carbon nanotubes originate from the electronic structure of carbon honeycomb lattice and one-dimensionality. Si espone qui la sperimentazione di un metodo di analisi e valutazione del danno ispirato all’approccio sociologico di N. Nuhmann (1990), che definisce l’ambiente per differenza rispetto ai processi comunicativi che informano il sistema sociale e quindi il danno ambientale come difetto della comunicazione tra sub-sistemi. In questa logica la valutazione del risarcimento è stata condotta con riferimento al rapporto verticale tra unità inquinanti e supporto naturale e orizzontale tra i diversi sub-sistemi che comunicano “sull’ambiente”.
