This is a note to the judgment in the case Faysal Pamuk v. Turkey (application no. 430/13), rendered by the European Court of Human Rights. The contribution explores the violation of Article 6 §§ 1 (right to a fair trial) and 3 (d) (right to obtain attendance and examination of witnesses) of the European Convention on Human Rights. The case concerned Mr Pamuk’s trial on terrorism-related charges, in particular the use of evidence that had been given in other jurisdictions in the absence of Mr Pamuk or his counsel following letters of request. A Parametric Dirichlet Problem for Systems of Quasilinear Elliptic Equations With Gradient Dependence

The aim of this article is to study the Dirichlet boundary value problem for systems of equations involving the (pi, qi) -Laplacian operators and parameters μi≥0 (i = 1,2) in the principal part. Another main point is that the nonlinearities in the reaction terms are allowed to depend on both the solution and its gradient. We prove results ensuring existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic behavior with respect to the parameters.

New methods for the use of waste products as input for other technologies are a constant subject of research efforts. One such product is waste engine oil. Due to the constantly increasing number of motor vehicles in the world, the recycling or application of engine oils for energy production purposes is currently of considerable importance. This paper contains research regarding the analysis of the electro-oxidation potential of waste engine oil, and thus the possibility of using such oil as a material in fuel cells.
