2020

In recent times, coaching has become relevant in heterogeneous discourses and practices in the economic, political and cultural fields of contemporary societies. Based on our ethnographic analysis of different training sessions on the Nike+ Run Club platform in Buenos Aires, in this article we study how ontological coaching operates in the field of sport and races. Then, we ask about how people who attend this platform appropriate coaching techniques to manage emotions, moods, and body effects according to the business entrepreneurship logic. Through this work, the ethnographic results are articulated with a reflection about the theory, practice, and values of the ontological coaching, wher…

Teachers' attitudes and self-efficacy on implementing inclusive education in Japan and Finland: A comparative study using multi-group structural equa…

2018

Abstract This study aims to explore relationships between teachers' attitudes, self-efficacy, and background variables regarding inclusive education by using a sample of 359 Japanese and 872 Finnish teachers. A multi-group structural equation modelling was conducted to find similarities and differences in how the background variables predict teachers' attitudes and self-efficacy. Experience in teaching students with disabilities had a positive effect on teachers' attitudes and self-efficacy in both countries. However, teachers' teaching career and the amount of inclusive education training affected them differently in Japan and Finland. The findings could be used to improve inclusive educat…

La ricerca sul campo come extraordinary experience. Una proposta di ricerca multidisciplinare

2010

Reflexive criticism focused its attention on writing texts, neglecting the experience of observation, on which the practice of field research is built, and it rarely paid attention to the experience of researchers. The triple relationship established between the anthropologist, the world and the “other” reveals the deep interrelation between the three levels of this “complex isotopy”. This essay addresses the problem of how a person can interact with another within the ethnographic practice. Ethnographic research doesn’t consist only in dialogues but also in bodily experiences that have a key role in the production of ethnographic representations. Experiential anthropologists believe that w…

Innovazioni sceniche nella Parigi del primo Novecento

2012

Sense of coherence and health among home-dwelling older people.

2010

Sense of coherence (SOC) is important for maintaining health. The aim of this study was to investigate if the SOC experience among home-dwelling physically active older people differs from that of hospital patients with the same age and sex. Data were collected with questionnaires and structured interviews containing Antonovsky’s SOC scale in an age- and sex-matched study group (n=160). Non-parametric statistical analyses were performed. No differences were found in SOC between home-dwelling individuals and patients. Ninety-five percent of the home-dwelling individuals perceived themselves as being in good health and 42.5% among the patients (p<0.001). SOC and disease were predictors fo…
