On multivalued weakly Picard operators in partial Hausdorff metric spaces

We discuss multivalued weakly Picard operators on partial Hausdorff metric spaces. First, we obtain Kikkawa-Suzuki type fixed point theorems for a new type of generalized contractive conditions. Then, we prove data dependence of a fixed points set theorem. Finally, we present sufficient conditions for well-posedness of a fixed point problem. Our results generalize, complement and extend classical theorems in metric and partial metric spaces.

A novel technique for opus vermiculatum mosaic rendering

In this paper we present a method to generate a digital mosaic starting from a raster input image. Mosaics generation of artistic quality is challenging. The basic elements, the tiles, typically small polygons, must be packed tightly, emphasizing orientations chosen by the artist. An adhoc boundaries detection have to be performed according to the directional guidelines. Different mosaic styles can be automatically rendered, depending on artistic techniques considered (“opus musivum”, “opus vermiculatum”, etc.). On the CAT(0) dimension of 2-dimensional Bestvina-Brady groups

Let K be a 2-dimensional finite flag complex. We study the CAT(0) dimension of the `Bestvina-Brady group', or `Artin kernel', Gamma_K. We show that Gamma_K has CAT(0) dimension 3 unless K admits a piecewise Euclidean metric of non-positive curvature. We give an example to show that this implication cannot be reversed. Different choices of K lead to examples where the CAT(0) dimension is 3, and either (i) the geometric dimension is 2, or (ii) the cohomological dimension is 2 and the geometric dimension is not known.

Tavoitteenani on tehdä näkyväksi sitä, mitä kaikkea koulu on – ei arvostella koronapandemian aikaisten poikkeavien opetusjärjestelyjen toteuttamista tai idealisoida lähitoteutuksena järjestettävää perusopetusta.
